So another season is pretty well over. What have we learned from 2008/09? Frankly I feel that given the economic situation being fed to us by various forms of the media, we should be looking good for 2009/10 season. It is a well known fact that when things are tough, families tend to do more things TOGETHER. Simply because it is cost efficient. Speedway still remains the BEST family entertainment on the planet. How do we make the most of this?

Good post. A question we need to keep asking regularly. The thing that seems to detract most and come up most regularly about how family friendly we are, is the continued presence of drunken idiots and how little is done about them. Even at tracks that are advertised as alcohol free, drunken twits seem to be tolerated to the determent of families. One form of advertising that I think we benefit from is the use of handbills in letterboxes. We get bombarded with more and more junk mail for only one reason, this form of advertising works. Speedway is full of willing volunteers many of whom may be happy to donate a little of their time to deliver handbills.
