The Wellington Speedway Society would like to acknowledge the passing of one of our more prominent club members early this week.
It is with much sorrow we farewell Fraser McGaughran, AKA The Fhoneman, who was one of our photographers. Fraser did a lot for this club and his generosity will be remembered as much as his friendly & helpful personality will be missed at the Te Marua circuit.
The clubs thoughts go to his family

Te Marua was the first speedway I vistied, and looking through The Fhonemans pictures relives some great times that I had going around that great dirt that Te Marua has.
R.I.P. Fraser, your pictures were always top notch, and you always captured the action.

We are very shocked and sad to hear about Fraser's passing. I had the privilege of joining Fraser on the infield at last season's Stockcar Team Champs (Dec 2007). I found Fraser to be a really awesome guy, as GH said, a happy and welcoming sight at Te Marua. He was also an excellent photographer. We wish to extend our heartfelt condolences to Fraser's family and friends during this time. Rest in Peace mate, you will be sadly missed by us all. Love from Yaz, Eddie, Linz and Sue.

Very sad news, Condolances to Frasers family.
Not only did Fraser take great photos of the racing he also loved taking photos of all our kids esspecially of our little ones and then bring copies of them to the next meeting and give them to us and would never take anything for them.

Wow.
I'm deeply sorry and saddened to read this grim news.
I appreciated and respected Fraser's photography endeavors. He seemed a humble speedway man, quiet as a mouse. Goodbye good man. You'll be greatly missed.
RIP.
