62 years of living life to the full. Cliffy lived on the edge, he worked hard, played hard, took risks and enjoyed every day. His sense of humour and lightening wit is legendary. He lifted peoples lives, treated everybody equally - on all levels and from all walks of life. His integrity, honesty and "can do" attitude is an example to us all. Everything he undertook was completed with 110% committment. Cliff faced huge challenges in his life, having suffered a broken neck in the NZ Stockcar Champs in Wellington and spending months in traction. The Doctors stated "nobody walks out of the hospital after what you've been through" - Cliff said "Is that right?". On release, Cliff WALKED out of the hospital.
He was a fearless and skilful Modified driver - downright scary to watch.
Having to helplessly watch his wife and soulmate battle and eventually succumb to cancer, nearly 4 years ago, was devastating to Cliff and his son Neville (Butch). He was an awesome lifecoach and mentor to Butch. The way Butch is coping and handling himself now is a testament to Cath & Cliff - they would be so proud of him - he is awesome.
Cliffs love of immaculate cars and his Harley was his true passion. Everything he owned and did was immaculately presented, the attention to detail was fanatical.
Cliff and partner, Alice, had recently brought an Apartment in Auckland and life was good. What a huge tragedy and loss to all who were privileged to know Cliff. He will live in our hearts forever and will be sorely missed by the so many people whose lives he touched.
Rest in Peace Good Buddy
Tony McLanachan

Great words Tony Mac, and I now know even more about Cliff than I did before. My memories of him don't go back as far as his Stockcar driving days, just that always immaculate 14B Modified. An inspiration to everybody he met, obviously. R.I.P. Snowman.......

Gonna miss you my dear dear friend. You went out as you lived ....flat out and having fun. You once said to me that there was no sense in arriving in Heaven in a great looking body, better to beat the h ell out of it first and rebuild it when you get there!!! RIP Snowman. Just thinking back about Cliff, one thing that I will always remember that he said to me when he bought his Wilkinshaw Comodore, he said Clive, this car has to be driven fast and we're just the family to do it.
RIP Cliffy

LOL I sold Cliff that car and traded Kath's TX3i Laser of them! He said the car was for Kath! LMAO Peter Pitchers name appeared on the ownership papers some where also. The car had only done about 4 kms Cheers Clive Cooper

As a young fellow, watching Snowman race his 14B Modified (& yes Antzgofast does have a pic) The story of him rebuilding his Kenworth Logger was amazing, and showed what sort of guy Cliff was. At the turn of the century, I worked with Cliff at TCD here in Auckland, we used to talk Speedway alot, when I was loading him for his out of town trips, I received the news earlier in the week about Cliff's passing as I rolled off the boat in Wellington. RIP mate from a fellow Linehaul driver and Speedway lover, the CB wont be the same with out you bud.
