I see three drivers so far named for 2010; Frankie Wainman Junior, Tom Harris and Stu Smith Junior, all who were team members last year when they stunned most present with their 3rd placed finish, are making a return Waitangi weekend. With that experience under their belts, can they go even further than they did in 2009? I'm certainly interested to see who the 4th and 5th names will be. Anybody putting their hands up yet Team GB? A few teams have already confirmed for next year's event, the Otago Cougars are out but Auckland should reappear and fill that slot. Rumours suggest Wellington might return as well, of course. Only 3 and-a-bit months to go......... Also there'll be some news out of the Panthers camp early next week, so keep an eye on Macgor's Notice Board for when and where you can hear more about it.........

Info on the Panthers and next year's Teams Champs now available, just follow the link macgor.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=Read&action=display&thread=12680With the BBC headed to New Zealand to follow Frankie Wainman Junior and Stu Smith Junior around as well, there's certainly plenty of outside media interest being shown in the Superstock class this summer.

Personally, I'd like to see another of the 'young guns' join Team GB and in particular Dan 'the man' Johnson, who was out in NZ last January. Whilst he lacks teams experience, he has raced in NZ and is no slouch with the front bumper Murray Harrison would make an ideal 5th member of the team. The BBC docu series should be airing when the guys are down under. I'm assuming any filming will be for second series (if commissioned)? I was speaking to one of the crew on Sunday who said she was thinking of coming to NZ in January/February.

I believe the BBC series starts screening over there around Xmas sometime? Not sure how long it runs, and whether the NZ footage is for the end of this series, or a possible second one. Hopefully some DVD's may find there way to New Zealand......

Barry
My understanding is that the docu series will be over six half hour episodes screened on BBC1 (the equivalent to TV One) and will be shown 'prime time'. At this time, no dates have been set although it is anticipated to be early in the new year.
The team behind it were responsible for the 'Trawlermen' docu series which was a fly on a wall series about North Sea fishermen.
One of the team is a big stock car fan and managed to get a pilot done, which was filmed at the two wettest meetings at the end of the 2008 season. From this 'pilot' the docu series was commissioned.
One of the team explained to me at Sheffield on Sunday that of each 180 minutes of film taken, only 1 minute will be shown on TV. I was also advised that following the National Series Shootout Finale on Sunday, the footage taken from the whole season would be edited in order for the programme's January slot in the schedules.
Therefore, I'm not sure where the filming in NZ fits in, unless they've put back the scheduled broadcast dates in order to incorporate some footage from NZ? If so, it would be the best advertising for the start of the F1 season here in the UK, which kicks off in March 2010
