So this Saturday 28th brings the sprintcar international 30 lap Classic to Western Springs. Really looking forward to seeing Craig, Joey, & Allard turn fast laps on the new track surface which has so far shown some exciting racing this season. Maybe even see track record busted. I know I will be there anyone else going who would not normally?

Yes it will be good to see these guys on a fast two lane track. Saldana has been fast all year with 20 wins in the Outlaws he will be worth watching. Dollansky and Allard will also be fast as they showed last year. Then we have most of the quickest NZ drivers who all want to prove how fast they are against these guys. Should be a great night at the Springs. If you follow motorsport this event is one not to be missed. 20+ 800hp winged monsters on the tight 1/4 mile should be good to watch. Will Logan's track record still stand? 11.7 seconds is fast but nothing is impossible especially with some of the fastest Sprint Car drivers in the world having a shot at a track record. I will be there!

I'm looking forward to this meeting. 26 cars with three fast Americans. Hopefully the track is good because these guys and the top kiwis will be good to watch. Saldana has won more A mains than any other driver in the Outlaws this year. He will be hard to beat! Dollansky should be up there fighting for the win too. The Springs will be the place to be this weekend.

I think it is pretty safe to say that logans 11.7sec lap will be out the door with the new banking and smooth track will 11.5 be the new bench mark if its going to happen it will be this weekend will be spectacular for sure a must see meeting

The 11.77 was done under exceptional circumstances. The track was juiced up after a rain delay and it was done in time trials. It was also one of those laps where the driver drove a perfect lap. Whilst Midgets and TQ's have set new track records the Sprintcars have been the best part of half a second away from Ricky Logan's time. Remember that was the only night we have seen sub 12 second laps at Western Springs. I think sub 12 is possible given the right conditions on Saturday night but I will be surprised if the track record is not standing at the end of the night. To be honest I hope we don't see super fast times because if we do everyone will be going fast and there wont be much passing. I'm hoping for a surface similar to 14th Nov.

There's a bit of sprinkling forecast for Sat afternoon. Hopefully wont disrupt things too much. Given the right conditions, it's potentially a low 11s track imho. Very similar to Kokomo stateside. Could be a awesome night.
