They cannot race tomorrow due to council restrictions. There is a set number of races which, once they've been run, constitutes one meeting of the 12 they are permitted under the terms of their agreement. Had they not started tonight, or got rained out much earlier, tomorrow may have been an option if the weather improved.

Moral of the situation then is be very cautious about going to the springs if a hint of rain or from the promoters view to get the pulblic coming call the meeting if it looks like rain so you can use a rain date

All week the weather prediction for Sunday has been even worse than tonight.......time will tell if that's accurate or not obviously, but Sunday night is never a popular night for speedway anyway, so it was really a no-win situation whatever happened tonight I think.
The one thing we cannot control is the weather, and it was certainly shaping up to be good night. Saladana time-trialled earlier than most of the other quick times, admitted to having the wrong setup on the car, and still nabbed the fastest time with a 12.22 after light rain. Could he have been beaten? We'll never know...........
USA Midget team was announced as Jerry Coons Jnr, Scott Hatton, Tony Elliott and Kevin Swindell, while December 26th and 30th will see Sammy Swindell, Jonathon Allard and Ricky Logan in action in the Sprintcar class too.

Just to let you know springs are going to find out if they can complete the meeting tomorrow and it will be free entry so at least they are trying to redeem them self. So lets hope we can go racing again and see the yanks do battle with the kiwi boys.

Hope they can pull it off . might have a few disgruntled customers otherwise . I assume they never ran enough events to declare a winner of the 'Wynns International Sprintcar Classic'

The Western Springs promotion have just received permission from Council to run the rest of the meeting this evening, 6pm start, 8.30pm finish, FREE ENTRY at the gate, and by my reckoning still 11 races to go.

Has anyone got a list of lap times from the time Trial? And why are Western Springs lap times not on "My Laps" anymore?

Yes, but too much for me to type them all Top 10; Joey Saldana 12.220 Colin Entwisle 12.259 Jonathon Allard 12.260 Craig Dollansky 12.324 Jamie McDonald 12.466 Greg Pickerill 12.738 Hans Boere 12.750 Mark Browne 12.753 Karen Forsey 12.798 Allan Wakeling 12.804 The top 15 were in the 12's, and a few that didn't do as well as I expected were Dean Brindle in 14th with a 12.992, Nelson Hartley 17th with a 13.105 and Ryan O'Connor 21st with a 13.383.
