Can someone tell me how a driver can have two races earlier in the night, then be 10-20 laps into the feature before he's pulled infield for noise?? Im thinking that maybe the rut that formed exiting turn 4 was the probable cause of the so called noise increases for 51m and 0USA but thats hardly their fault?? Made for a terrible end and as just when the leaders were reaching lapped traffic the noise police stepped in :-( glad it was free tonight.! funny that it was visiting cars/drivers too..

Can someone tell me how a driver can have two races earlier in the night, then be 10-20 laps into the feature before he's pulled infield for noise?? I was wondering exactly the same thing. Would like to know what 56a did between the B-Main and A-Main as he was not pulled off in the A-Main after being pulled off in the B-Main. It never ceases to amaze how officials can identify a car that is over noise when it is running close to other cars. But anyway I mostly enjoyed tonight. A slick track really brought out the skill in the drivers and proved that you don't need to be running near the lap record to put on a good race.

How could Rodney get pulled for noise when he's had no issues in the last 4 meetings at baypark? ? who has by far the strictest noise enforcement anywhere

56a crashed out of the A-Main in Pine Tree Bend......... but good question though percy.
Rodney Wood's car was pulled off the track due to noise reading of 100 decibels - so he was told by the noise police.
During his podium speech Joey Saldana stated he was a bit confused with all the yellows during the race as he was lookin' for a crashed car each time. "I guess ya'll race differently down here with the noise issue."
The noise police shared their view on "How to ruin a great race in three easy steps" by spreading the noise eliminations amongst firstly an out of towner, Baypark's Rodney Wood 51M, secondly an Aucklander Jeremy Alpin 96A and thirdly an American Jonathan Allard 0USA.
Both the 96A and 0USA cars out of the same stable.
On the podium though Salter Motorsports Team 1,2 and 3 Saldana, Dollansky and O'Connor.
In spite of the noise issue an enjoyable night of sprintcar racing on a slick track but it would have been better if we hadn't experienced the stoppgages that we did.
Roll on December 26th with Allard, Logan and Swindell. ;D

I am a sound engineer and the show I saw at Western Springs on Sunday Night was descusting. You CANNOT take noise levels of a car when ANY OTHER CARS ARE RUNNING. The noise level meter as used by SNZ has an omni mic on it. That means that it picks up from all around. They can point it all they like at a car but it could be a car anywhere that is giving the reading. The sound that the noise meter reads is Additive, that means that for every car there the resultant level is added to by every other car there. For instance if you have two cars running 95 db each the meter will read 98 db. The only way to test properly is do one car at a time and that reading is logged as that cars level. No other engines may be running at the time of the test. I do not believe any of the cars were any louder than any other on Sunday Night.

Thats it for me not spending my money going somewere to watch cars pulled off for that i realise its not springs fault, why dont they stick that noise meter were the sun dont shine all the people that were watching the show like the noise so why cant they get the warning after the race ? Still cant see how they can get an accurate reading being about 20 ft from side of tracks with 20 sprint cars going past why dont they stand by the gate with it i bet its no were near 95 then, they wont be happy till were all at home playing tidlywinks or something,my reckoning and im probably wrong but those kiwi kid cars sound noisyest of all the classes, feel sorry for all those guys Rodney Wood was really going well fighting it out with the yanks oh well thats my moan .

Just finished watching The Dirt, what an absolute Fn shambles the noise police made of that event. How can they single out individual cars for excess noise when every other car is out there is making just as much? And how can a car get so far through the meeting with trials, dash, mains etc and not get pulled then get singled out when it counts? And the international drivers must be wondering what the heck is going on in this back woods outfit. Not only is it frustrating for the drivers, but the fans also who see someone they may be rooting for get pulled. What a joke! Can't wait to see them at Harrisville for Winged Thunder 3, where they can run with NO MUFFLERS. Only 2 did it last year, hopefully more may next time.

contrary to some of the reports I have read about the meeting being pretty good (mostly on Percy's site), from what I watched last night on the Dirt I thought it was average to be honest. Looked to me that Dollansky got feed a wheel by Saldana at the start and that a lot of the guys were on the grass more than the track! Racing wasn't that flash and the crowd was terrible considering the Sunday was free!

Take some heed of your own advice Jamo and Macgors will be the better for it.
