Tough question, Where will this event be held now as according to the website there is only one stockcar meeting before the NZ's which requires 3. With no meetings or practises held at Wanganui so far what is the situation? Please answer with helpful information and not nasty or personal attacks. Would be really good if someone from SNZ or maybe CarWrecker could give some insight, or Maybe someone from the (Whanganui) Club could comment. Thanks.

If you raced the season before then you only have to do 1 meeting

avgas is refering to rule g13-2-3 which obligates the track to have run that class 3 times in the season prior to the champs being held. with 7 weeks left to run before the champs i see no need for panic or alarms bells as there is plenty of time to sort things out. at the minimum they could hold a practice prior to the event, split into two ( ie a lunch break ) to complete the requirement to have held 3 meetings.

Thanks for your answer. So if I get it right on the 10th Jan we could have a practise and then two meetings by splitting the meeting in half. So does that mean 1st practise at 10 second at 12 the 1st meeting at 2pm then second meeting at 4pm. Is that what was meant? Will we have to pay twice?

Thats easy they will just apply for dispensation

theres going to be alot of stockcars at that practice, (or is it only there own club cars that can go to practice like most other tracks) for this scenario the practice,s would be for the clubs benefit to satisfy their obligations in the contract they signed to hold the nz champs. in theory no-one could turn up and they still would have done their part. the club has to offer a practice to the competitors entered in the nz champs for familiarisation purposes, prior to the event being run. (usually in the afternoon after scrutineering, or sometimes the day before ) i am not sure wether this would count towards the 3 they require but i would pressume not. someone else may know more detail.

This hasn't happened, they've missed out on drivers making the trip to Wanganui to familiarise themselves with the track, and missed out on people through the gate.

Bignell Street is adequate at best. If you're parking a vehicle there overnight, make sure that everything is secure and locked. Sadly, that's the reality of the world we live in nowdays.
