Wow tonights racing had everything. A few big tumbles and plenty of close racing. The Sprintcars stole the show with some unreal passing moves.
Highlight for me was 0usa Sprintcar Jonathan Allard. A one man human highlight reel, bouncing off walls one minute and pulling out a pass out of nowhere the next.
World Midget 30 Lapper Result: 1st 54a Michael Pickens 2nd 3usa Jerry Coons Jr 3rd 77a Shaun Insley 4th 17k Michael Brunt
13a Brad Mosen led the whole race and would have won but something broke with about 5 to go and he had to retire infield. 1aus Kevin Swindell flipped hard in Pine Tree Bend, 2usa Tony Elliott rolled down the front straight.
Top nights racing.

Good analogy of the night Percy, I thought the Midget feature was pretty dramatic, but the Sprintcar one was something else. Allard, O'Connor, Brindle and Logan take a bow - what a shame Swindell wasn't in the mix too. Stunning.......

Stepped out of my Nelson comfort zone for a look last night. Great to see sprintcars on a track that's designed for them (still struggle with the car-breaker cushion) and the pass by Dean Brindle to win his heat was worth 25 bucks.
Liked the composure shown by the 98 TQ Chris Gwilliam to win his first feature after multiple yellows too. Good night all round.

#8. Ryan Oconnor. What can you say. Absolutely on fire. To drive around the outside of "Slammin Sammy" and drive away from him - absolute commitment- Good on you Kid! You have a great future - Also Ron, you have to be commended for backing him like you have. It's teams like you guys that will keep Sprintcar racing in NZ alive. Thank you.

Agreed. Allard clearly had one bullet left but the crowd reaction when O'Connor went past was awesome.
