Thanks to all the kind words words you guys have said about GIBBY. He always had a laugh and a great story to tell me on the way home after speedway. I know he will be there watching and saying his favourite words - Its nothing to get upset about JUST CRUISE. Have one for him. His partner Dorothy

A very sad time indeed for his family
I have had the pleasure of being involved with "Gibby" with both Speedway & Soccer....for many many years
Believe it or not..in early years he was both a coach & player in my footy team & club ... very astute..and a very wise man at the art of coaching people skills... Rose City FC would never have been the same without him!!!
...Very unique & liked to do things his own way....no suprises there !!!! Eh
Totally dedicated to the cause !!!!!!!!!!!
Gibby you will be sorely missed ...and as he used to say to me " Up Ya Clacker !!!"
Till we meet again my boy .....
Cheers Wiseowl ( SAVS )

RIP Gibby!! One of the true gentlemen of Speedway and will be sadly missed in Palmy especially. Kicked my bum and got me off me bottom to get my Mod racing again in Palmy when a huge case of the why bothers set in on the 55p camp. I was forever greatful to him for that and was looking forward to catching up with him at the NZ Minisprint deal. There havent been too many made in the Bruce mould and the world is poorer for it. God Speed old mate God Speed!!! Pete and Karen Muckle Nelson

Over many years of competing Bruce was one of the fairest and straight up officials the sport could have ever have had. and treated everyone with respect , he was truly respected by all.
Even after Rex retired from competing, if ever Bruce seen us at a track he made a point of coming up and saying hello, having a bit of a joke. It's sad that this sincere gentleman has passed away and our condolences go to his wife Dorothy and family and friends at this time. RIP Bruce. Rex & Del Nield
