Just informing the Speedway World that Selwyn passed away this morning.

very sad..the contribution that Selwyn put in to Speedway was immense..from a competitor at Aranui in TQs and on bikes, through to being the driving force behind the Doyleston track in the late 50's-early 60's, and then being one of those who built Templeton (Ruapuna)..I bet he kept 95% of the JAP engines going for guys (often without recompense) in the early days. He was also one of the real grafters that built the Ellesmere Raceway. I had total admiration for the man who gave his life to speedway, and motor sport. My thoughts with the Burt family

Sad to see another one of the true icons of Speedway go to the big track in the sky. Condolences to the Burt family. Another character we're gonna miss.
