Gidday all,
Finally got to drive again on the weekend, unfortunately 38gm isnt quite ready and with bad had unavailable for the trip down, 687gm was looking at me sayin things like man i am bored, when am i going to really stretch my legs and when are you going to see the light and finally drive a ford, well that last one struck a nerve so we loaded her up and arrived at the park just slightly late (not wanting to break tradition) got scrutineered then sat and took a heap of abuse from all the falcon drivers (thanks guys for not wrecking me too)
it was a fab day in grey vegas with a cooling breeze taking a lot of heat from the sun so we knew the track would be getting a fair dose of water to try and give the tq guys the best surface so wasnt to surprised at a slippery track for the first race.
We took off ok missed the first corner pile up and set off chasing down dwayne who has got the 82gm flying again this year in fact all the cars racing on sat were fast and if you got a clean run without incident you were hard to catch, any way have to admit to being a little lost with the pedals having not driven down the middle for a number of years and often got pedals mixed up etc haha About mid race the 82 started to slow and like a fool i had a snif around the outside when the wall started to move and come closer to the right front of my car and left a big hole under me and dwayne to let shaneo in 41 through and hang on for the win
i dnf'd with a locked up steering got back to pits and jonny found the cause of the steering fault, fueled up and ready for race 2,
race went well started to get a bit quicker and trying to stick with the smack attack in 11gm but he drove away when i come across shane and dwayne tangled in turn 2 went for the brake with right foot, brake is on left side of box caught the accelerator and drove into both of them woops sorry lads had a good drag race with kev the haymanator and got home in 2nd stoked.
Race 3 couldnt resist havin a poke at shaneo who appeared to be a little loose and as he went around put both of us in the wall and burnt the clutch out on 687gm in the process so another dnf for me.
all in all i had a great day and was really surprised at the performance of bad hads car which i am sure will grab a few flags this season so thanks to him for the offer, and hope to see you at the park in the rebuilt 38 at the next meeting.
Cheers
Olly
