Can't help agreeing with Wazza and Kessa. What is Wellington Speedway Promotions up to? Not much in regards to communication that's for sure.
3 days till Wellington's biggest weekend of Speedway, 1 of NZ Speedways big annual events and what have we heard from Te Marua - some teams that might be coming, what time it starts and how much it's going to cost to get in and that's it. Interesting that you can set a premium gate charge of $25 per night up front and then try and sort out a programme to match.
No teams officially named, although they're available elsewhere, no number of teams confirmed, no format for the meeting, nothing. It's hard to comprehend how anyone can run a business like this with, on the surface of it, an apparent lack of such basic organisational skills. Surely there is a reasonable level of planning going on behind the scenes to ensure the other tracks confirm their entries by a particular time to ensure the meeting can be promoted properly.
I live in Wellington and I've seen and heard nothing advertised about this weekends meeting except for a few pictures and a brief mention in this weeks Hutt news. So much for promoting a big event like this.
Like others I support Te Marua by getting along to watch at other times during the season other than team champs weekend, but based on the last few years experiences, I'd be quite happy to go to Palmy Nth, Wanganui or even HB and attend a well run weekend of Crash and Bash teams racing there instead.
Anyway, hears hoping it's a well run and action packed meeting.
Good luck to all teams, drivers and crews for a safe weekend.

So much for promoting a big event like this. \ I don't know which wellington you are living in but i have seen tons of advertising around the car is as per usual sitting on the side of sh2 with a rather large sign,i have seen at least 10 smaller signs spread around wellington region thats just the areas I have been to,I've heard at least 2 ads on the radio. plus there is another big sign just out side of the track. But on the other hand i must admit they get a brand new website and it just does not get updated enough and also in all the advertising i have seen around the place i have not once seen or heard the tracks website so how are public suppose to know how to get the info? ?? Promotions are being paid to promote now but some aspects of the promotion is worse than when it was done for love and not once in this whole teams talk have we had an update from speedway promotions wellington directly.Information is key to success guys. and there are alot of people waiting for this key info.

Whangarei non-SNZ track so probably not eligible Te Marua and Manawatu - cannot have two teams representing same track, so neither is eligible but Manawatu were racing last year?

If you read the thread properly you'll see they recieved a special dispensation last year to replace Nelson, who pulled out at the last minute.

I drive a fair few km's in a day and I have seen signs all over the place. Not to mention the guy putting all the knocked over ones back up at melling. The saloon car, a mercedes car on the fore shore, a big bloody truck with signs on it. SPW have got more signs out than WSS had last year simple!
No doubt Ramjam has fairies everywhere telling him the goss which we all wait eagerly to hear on Macgors, but fact is like pervious years getting a 100% commitment and driver lists from teams 2-3 weeks out is impossible.
Sandy WFT the Young Guns have great backing and support from the Welly club and sponsors.

Despite the advertising around the traps, I live korokoro and work in the city I haven't seen any.
My major gripe is with what little info there is on the website. Last year they ad the teams and team member for awhile before the meeting(s).
I guess when are spending money on attending such a big meetingthey expect a higher level on information prior to the meeting, and I would have to agree.
Or maybe the championship has run it's course in Wellington and may need to be hosted elsewhere to breath new life in to it.

For us punters that use Macgors its a great tool to get info etc about upcoming events at tracks But the majority of people that turn up wouldnt even know or read Macgors .But am surprised that the website isnt updated at least with the comfirmed teams and when draw will be done etc or any updated info Come on Welly give us Macgorians the updated info And lets all go and watch a ripper of a weekend where the boys will put their bodies on the line May the best team win ;D
