Bet he's feeling it today. Last night's drive for him was pretty special though. I initially thought he was avoiding contact to avoid the pain, but he'd obviously read the race pretty well and was going for the win. I'm not sure I can last remember when Scottie - or a tank for that matter - won a teams race.

Yip that takes something special to put your body on the line for a teams race like that...
PN did make hard work of that race however and showed how much is lost when P Bengston is not on the track..

Crutches? 2 weeks after an initial incident, surely something must be broken.
I was actually thinking that was the cruisiest team event win he has ever had, 3 goes at reserve, and a win barely getting touched. The guy is a legend, but risks alot.

It was very unusual to see him actually swerving around cars rather than giving them the 'Scottie tickle'....

Wouldn't one think he would have to have a medical clearance if still on crutches and having to be lifted in and out of the car as someone else commented!!!!!

All Blacks play carrying injuries, League players play with the help of a needle at times...................people go to work sick, injured etc.................whats the difference in this case?
Seems to me It's just what life's focused, goal minded winners do to achieve results

No kidding! But im sure scott,s injurys stretch a little further than a sore leg buddy! Im not taking anything away from miers as a team racer/competitor But give your body time to mend I for one would hate to lose 8p from the major superstock events. the guy is a legend and we all know this. Please take care scotty,as this 8p fan will be happy enuf to see you come back 100% body and car wise You are one of the only true stockcar drivers left these days and we all would hate to see you bow out to further injury. Rant over, Take care scott cheers

On Speedbox while Scotty was sitting in car he looked bloody terrible and then to see him on crutches during prize giving if you ask me The Palmy Panthers management took a huge risk by running scotty in the semifinal but hey at the end of the day it payed off well done The Panthers and thats coming from a loyal Glen Eagle,s supporter

@ Scotty H; at the end of the day, it would have been Scott Miers' decision as to whether he raced or not. Whether or not his decision was a wise one is another matter altogether, but you can't fault his commitment and dedication to his team and teammates. That's what makes Palmy and Nelson the great teams they are.

Take my hat off to the guy for getting out there and doing what he loves. Couple of point though. 1.Strongly beleive it was the wrong decision and if something had of happened (he got injured or another for the fact), i could quite comfortably say that someone (with a shirt and tie) would ask the question "Knowing the competitor was in an incapacitated state prior to the starting of the race, what measures did you (promotion and staff) put in place to protect the competitor from further injuries and damage. Is it not yours and SNZ's reposonsibility to provide the nessacary rules and governance to minimize the infliction of injuries and damage not only to the competitor but to the public?? 2. It also tells me that there is no one else in the Palmerston north superstock fraternity (that is not already in a team) that is as good as a broken Scott Miers.
Just my thoughts though and again congrads to all the teams.
