Darkone ,, Its called consistancy . Why were all of the other illegal tactics ignored . Passing on the grass , cutting the pole line , hitting stationary cars , cars parking up on the infield for 3 or 4 laps then joining the race again . The list goes on. The refs should be ashamed of themselves .. Is this rule enforced for teams as i remember seeing someone hit a stationary car ( i think it was a panther but in saying that ive got a nuts memory so im possibly completly wrong about what team it was)

i think you can hit a stationary car if its in an attacking position in a teams race only, I maybe wrong tho

i dont normally coment on things, but should'nt the nelson car have been disqualified for doing 3/4 of a lap with the red lights on and nelson were probably very lucky that 1 of the stratford cars had spun to the infeild and was stuck on the pole line for 6 laps, unable to get back onto the track . he did eventually get back and who knows what difference could he have made

Correct. Teams racing rules say a stationary car in an attacking posistion is fair game.

I think the "stationary car" thing is relaxed in teams racing, as it can be deemed that a car sitting in the middle of the track could be seen to be in an attacking position, just waiting for another target. As an approaching driver, how are you supposed to know that the car sitting there is not waiting to have a go at you. So, you prevent that from happening by attacking him - saw two classic examples of that with GB taking the front wheel off a stationary car and a Panther doing the same thing in one of their races, classic move for crippling a car without inflicting injury.

I was unsure as you stated the car is in an attacking position. Well those are my questions answered. Congratulations to all the teams for some hard fought and well one battles.

I really wish ppl would get this "in an attacking position" thru their heads. People it is not a hard rule to understand

People it is not a hard rule to understand The reason is asked was god rest his soul wasnt peter barry in an attacking position? Obviously not being a racer myself i wasnt aware if there was any rule change or not to this.I was merely asking to be informed about something that i didnt know.Im now informed as it has penetrated my head sufficiently.

Nelson supporters have a right to be angry. They travel long distance to watch their team just like a lot of other teams and fans and to have them pulled from the final on a call which was consistantly inconsistant from the rest of the meeting is a pretty horrible feeling. I got over it pretty quickly thanks to Stratford supporters being understanding about it. People calling us one-eyed Nelson supporters immature is pretty harsh, if the shoe was on the other foot, any team supporters would be wild. Just be understanding and the favour will be returned one day. Well done Stratford see you next year!

I bet the panthers team protested for the stratford team so they didnt have them in the final Anyway, ended up for a boring final. 5th and 6th teams race along with 3rd and 4th was best racing on finals night.
