Reading through the results and threads, there seems to be a high injury rate this year.
It appears there are three broken bones reported... one being chris flett...
I cant really think of any other sport code that would have so many broken limbs in one weekend tournament, perhaps save for kickboxing / judo etc....
How much harder and faster do these things have to get??

MOUNTAIN BIKING TOPS THEM ALL FOR INJURIES. I was a spectator at the downhills here in Napier Last year and could not believe the amount of broken bones in such a short time.

HOrse riding comes a close second - speedway injuries are wayyyy down the list for volume and frequency when compared to other sports.
I think it was Roydon Collingwood who was in Hospital after the 240s when he broke his collarbone, and there were 3 mountain bikers in with the same break from social riding.

We had 2 players brake their legs in our football team last year. All sports are dangerous.

Was a big mountain bike/mountain running event down here on Sunday. If had not been for Palmy I would have entered. 4 people were taken to hospital via rescue helicopter.

Yep, think there a number of sports that create a few more injuries than superstock racing - and given the speeds and mass of the cars, that's quite a testament to the safety features.
