just because the pole line was wet, does it mean its ok to cut the pole line, looked like he had control of were he was going, not like he was all crossed up and out of control? he was forced across the line. he was boxed in, only one direction he could have gone. had he hit the brakes and turned left he still would have gone in the same direction.

The whole weekend can be summed up in one word INCONSISTENCY. it started the first night and continued into the second the inside of the track was sssssssssooooooooooo wet the tow truck struggled.

Thats a good call don't know what all the fuss is about. If we had done that in a normal race at palmy same result plus a trip upstairs for a chat to the stewards I imagine.
However should they off pulled him off striaght away?
I don't know what the rules are in regards to this offence in a teams race are as then Nelson would know what the call was and could race accordingly.
I was looking forward to a rematch nevermind maybe next year I do feel sorry for the Tigers a crap way to go out.
Cheers Ricky

What were the final results?
I think I heard he was relegated 4 spots for passing cars on the grass.
Were the 4 cars put ahead of this car on the same lap? As It seemed as if Nicholls had a reasonable lead, though Bolton was trucking along.
Given the footage above, there were seemingly numerous incidents like this from all teams races.
A big call by the officials in what would have been a fitting end to the 30th anniversary teams champs, having the two best teams in the final.
Higgy is an absolute legend, and the rest of the team are just behind them. Anyone looking to buy one of the best superstocks in the country would find it hard to go past that car. HOw does it stay so straight with all the massive hits he puts in? Bumper look like it hardly has a scratch??

it seems some are suggesting it was a palmy ref who made the decision? Are you able to back that up with a actual name? There were several refs in that box an not all from Palmy!

A Palmy official? No; a Rotorua official actually. And South Island teams "will not win on ability"? Funny, I thought the Nelson Tigers won last year; on ability

If it's the rule, it's the rule I guess. My real gripe is with consistency...or the lack of it. If Nicholls deserved to go, then so did a number of other drivers this weekend - same concept, same corner.

Agree with Knownotmuch, anyone who has read the rule would say the right decsion was made.
Once again for the hard of sight.... read my lips.... he was not DQ'd, he was realigated one of the 3 or 4 places he picked up by cutting the pole line.

I wasn't happy the decision either but i can see both sides of the argument, the only thing he could have done different was turn his wheels that way he would have been seen to be making an attempt to get back to the track even if he did go straight. He passed 3 - 4 cars, tough call but what can you do about it. He wasn't the only one doing it, he was just the unlucky one to get nailed for it.

In stead of keeping it hard down!

they all got told at drivers briefing no pole cutting and rules are rules so at the end of the day he cut the pole line and did not attempt to re enter where he went off...

You know - It would have been nice to have seen the same cries of foul play when Wayne Hemi was relegated last year for exactly the same thing that y'all are pinning this year's 'Palmy favouritism' tag on....
Or should I have left this balanced comment out of such a passionate tirade??
Of course...when your team doesn't do as well as you would like...and they don't get to win - or even make - the final...you are obviously going to find something - or someone - else to blame.
It was a silly mistake, it was picked up, and action was taken.
Suck it up, get over it and look forward to making amends next year..
Just like we had to do last year....
