If I'm not mistaken, I think HRC converted it into a Saloon Corvette, think Paul Hodson might have had it before he bought Martins Super??
Then I think Todd Moffat might have also had it, but never raced it and sold it on??
But I could be completely wrong too!

Hi yes Chris is right i converted it to a corvette for Ross Dolman then into a LTD saloon for Paul Hodson but he never ran it as i traded it in on one of my old super saloons i then finished it off and ran it a couple of times at Wellington ( Todd did have a go in it at welly but the power steer pump was faulty) and once at Wanganui where a guy from there purchased it from me im sure he lived in Marton from there who knows where its gone

I've got a couple of old pictures of the chassis from back in the day when Ross ran it as a Super, but they are old film prints and I'm not set up for scanning, but nothing much to see anyway in them, just the mid mount set up it had.
Its a typical early Gordge, looks just like any 80's Kuriger really, with lots and lots of square tube, so if it still survives it probably looks like any other old Kuriger/Kuriger copy.
If I remember rightly though Martin, didn't it have two radiators as a Limited to keep it cool, mounted flat one ahead of the other, so it looked like one big long radiator?? (Which would have been pretty distinctive).
I've got no pictures of that though.

Bit of a punt, but this is Keith Davis 15p from 2001/02. From memory, Keith hailed from Marton....could this be the car?? No idea where it went from here, he only raced sporadically at the time.

i recall the car was prety battered after ross finished with it!!! i think he had another similar car after that retired then came back quite some time later in another car but didnt stick around. had some talent but it run out quite often
wound up as a blue hat for a time in wgtn
i believe he lives up the pram way now but was in wainui for most of his racing i believe.
late 80s early 90s great for saloons in welly

Hi Brett, Ross Dolman here, just came across this thread and thought i might add, most of the info is correct,I believe the car pictured is our car. A couple of distinctive things 1) the back pillars on the roof were left short of the body when me and Marty did the Corvette convert (we didnt want to chop the cage down). 2) Marty was right about the front nudge bar being set up to hold the bonnet down. I blew up my 434 engine during the second season as a Corvette, just had our first kid and could'nt afford to fix it, so sold it to Paul Hodgson less engine and the rest is history. Was an awesome car and was very straight when I sold it. No hard crashes just a gentle rollover one club day. I thought I saw it at Welly last season but didn't get time for a close look, was a visiting car. Pretty sure it's still around, I will keep my eyes peeled next season as I now crew for Mark Pitcher ss 9w so get around a bit now. I have a few photo's taken while I had it, could post them for you if you want.
