Dave....... dude what can I say. Like Archie I have sat here over my key board for hours, with nothing except the odd tear or two. You and Jo have been good friends to me for a long time now and I can not begin to image the pain you must be feeling. Please do not feel you are along and the offer of time away, down here stands (as it always has) Newally

Dave, My thoughts are with you and family and Jo's family at this very tough time. Jo was a one in a billion lady who will be sorely missed by many many people, always had a massive smile on her face which would brighten anyones day, all the time I raced with her and caught up with her at racing there was never a moment that she wasnt smiling. RIP Jo Benjamin Bunny (what Jo called me on many occasions and often in front of large crowds!)

Sincere condolences to Jo's family from all the committee, staff, competitors, crew and supporters of Ruapuna speedway.
What a great lady - not afraid to race anything - at either track.
We salute you Jo...

Gone but not forgotten.

This following message is a txt on my phone from Jo dated 17/10/2010 3:52pm. It is word for word, nothing left out. God she was beautiful. "Sometime during the week google shanai twain singing 'when you kiss me'. My plan was to play you that when we got home on friday night. You need to listen carefully to the words. Played it to Fi on fri and told her I was going to play to you fri night. Was lying in the sun before reflecting on what life throws at us..like the earthquake.Life changing. on that note i had this horrible dream last night that you and I were in this horrible truck crash. Out of control down a hill. Woke just as about to hit a big shed. Already hit all these houses. Symbolic eh? Take care dave " Just to clarify. Fi was our flat mate Fiona (Jo's work mate at Baileys and later business partner). The earthquake was our September 4th one which affected Jo and others lots. Put stresses into our relationship. We were not getting on too well right at this point but before and soon after this point we were again,no worries. The Friday night mentioned we went to a major function, Canterbury sports people of the year awards at AMI Stadium,an after shock happened when we were there too. Ask Nick Smith (owner of The Otago Daily Times) or Rob Cope-Williams (Robs Country CTV), whether Jo and I were all over each other all night.Must have been because many were saying get a room. We would just laugh it off. Had a slight argument on the way home about stopping for fuel in her red beamer as we had the fuel light on going there and it was on for Jo earlier that day too. Drove past the last servo, where I got angry. She stopped the car and told me to get out. I ran home (can feel my sore feet now in my dress shoes ,suit etc). Got some stuff and went to my place in Belfast. There thats one of our arguments. Only to make up soon after.

You know we both played piano. Difference was Jo could still play, where as I have forgotten. Another txt 02/11/2010 from Jo. "We both will. It's worth it and the good far outweighs the bad. You have my heart babe. Don't ever forget that. And please take care of it x x x " Do you know I used to sing softly and or humm this next song round the house. Its one I remember from way back and sprung to mind when she said the same words to me (see we used to talk more than txt, funny that). The song caught me at the time with its melodious intricacies

I do want to show you is just how Jo was controlling the Muzzy. The first shot was at Oxford. Yellow car Terry Catlow is a super saloon (Shane Ma aka ex Bunters) let Jo go past on a yellow so he could have someone to chase. Jo lead the way to the checkered flag. hosting imagesThe next three are at Ashburton (were we are going today). Jo was doing this in the car second meeting ever at Oxford too. All her previous Productions and A Grade were front wheel drives. She took to this and it put a huge smile on her face(as it is on mine now). She had the shaky hands pre race both meetings at oxford, feeling nauseous, you know all the usual reactive things. On the track it was adrenalin. She was one in a million. Fiercely competitive and very beautiful at the same time. XXX upload imagesfree image hostimage hostfree image uploader[/quote]
