Very sad news Bob was one of the very Recognisable Faces of Waikaraka Park, he was a Committee Member at Waikaraka Park also Assist Steward, Vice President, and Clerk of Course, he inspired his Sons Gary and Bruce to many a success in the Sockcar,Saloon and Modified classes and his Wife Joan also worked hard at the Club, Bob always called a Spade a Spade but if you argued with him you ended up Shovelling @%#&t.
Clerk of Course 1977-78 1978-79 1979-80
Asst Steward 1984-85 1985-86 1987-88 1988-89
Committee Member 1977-78 1978-79 1979-80
Vice President 1981-82
Rest in Peace Bob and Regards to the Family

My condolence to Joan, Gary and Bruce on Bob's passing. I first meet Bob when I was elected to the ASSCC Committee in 1980 and we spent many hours discussing issues and points that he held an opinion on. Even if your argument was right, you would never convince Bob otherwise. Very many happy memories. Bob enjoyed Saturday nights at Waikaraka Park especially when Gary and Bruce were racing. Listening to his comments during the racing was sometimes more interesting than what was happening on the track. R.I.P. Bob
