I pick a Hawkes Bay, Wellington final. But more importantly I pick Rotorua to be the first team in trouble for straight lining. I so hope the rule has tossed out by teams champ time.

If Dunedin, Nelson and Greymouth could get teams together in time; plus Christchurch and Auckland who are sounding certain and the 11 first string teams from last year gives 16. With a few tracks having the numbers and desire to field second teams there are heaps of possibilities. I see no reason why a 20 team competition would not be achievable at least by 2008/2009 season. I'm sure it will still be a while before the entries are finalized and the promotion can announce what is really going down for this years team champs, but I say with 100% confidence it we be a great event well worth any amount of effort to attend.

the rules should say "your team must be made up from car that contracted to the track"

In a perfect world, yes, from the contracted track. however, we have seen plenty of ringins for a variety of reasons , and many of those have added to the spectacle of the event.

Would be a pity to have a team not show up for the sake of a ring in. Many of the ring ins in the past have helped keep the teams momentum going at a track struggling for numbers. This has at times encouraged the drivers of that track to build for the following season.

intially i thought, no ringins, but if you think about it, imagine the waikato superstock team in auckland a couple of seasons ago who had peter rees in their lineup, just to name one ringin.
teams, spectators and the promotion were all the better for his inclussion.

I really don't think 20 teams would be UMMMM whats the word feasible or able to be run it would take a week!! Could be easily be run in 3 meetings, could even be done in 2 if the number of laps per race was cut down a little. There are a number of format possibilities already thought through but until it is a reality there is no need for a 20 team format. I think stockcar numbers are going to continue to grow over the next few seasons. Which will require a fresh look at catering for entries at a number of events.
