hey these guys seem to have some talent
i use to think they were just boy racers with jap nuts cars but to there credit it looks like they have a blast.
i think the days of it just being hoons running around on the road (come on we have all done it) causing a nuisance to everyone but after having a good look at a car these cars show some good workmanship but my only problem is that the top end cars are all turbo junk i wonder if there is any one out there utilizing the development that has gone into the jap V8s that we see in the super stocks?
what do you guys think?

Google the current aussie drifting series and you will find more than 2 v8 monaros and a holden v8 powered Nissan silvia and a turbo v8 ford...
The Aussies thought to themselves - "why do we need turbo jap crap when we can just outhoon them with cubes..."
The V8's have sent the yaps running for the hills and then they came back with their lightweight yap cars powered with 350 chevs and LS1's to try and keep up. (Its true - do some research!)

Mark Winterbottom of Supercar fame runs this car pretty regularly with the help of the C.A.P.A. Performance guys and is doing very well when he competes. Has said he has a little trouble adapting back to the Supercar come race time!!!LOL!!!

Have seen it in action at Willowbank along with Aussie's Top Drifters. The only thing letting it down was Marks ability to FIND traction and hence the thing straightened out and went FAST!!! The was talk of the car being revampped or sold on.The Winterbottom participation was for promotion only.

Most of the speedway drivers drift aswell. It would be good to get a few speedway drivers into these cars to see if they are any good, and get some of the drifters into the speedway cars to see how they go.

I think its a sport, same as speedway, race on a circuit and drift (controlled slide) around the corners.
