I note that no overseas drivers have entered the NZ Superstock Title.
At first look it may appear impossible to fit in the 5 meetings required. However I have delved a little deeper and it is not that difficult for the 3 drivers doing the World 240's. They could in fact by my reckoning do 6 meetings in the next two weeks.
Friday Jan 13th - Rotorua (World 240's) Saturday Jan 14th - Rotorua (World 240's) Sunday Jan 15th - Wanganui (George Podjursky Memorial) Friday Jan 20th - Wanganui (Derby Team Qualification - All Classes running) Saturday Jan 21st - Palmerston North (Global 248 challenge) Sunday Jan 22nd - Wanganui (Derby Team Finals - All Classes running)
Does anyone know if the overseas drivers are aware of this possibility?
I think it would really add something to the title to have the likes of Frankie Wainman Jr and Paul Harrison in the field.

Oh well, Overseas drivers would have more of a chance at the title with more entrants in the Champs, but we are not treated this year...bit of a shame...maybe next year.

Frankie must have been frustrated that this one driver delighted in taking him to the wall at every oportunity possible. I don't think, in 15 odd visits here, I've ever seen FWJ vent any frustration, over anything. He just takes it all in his stride as part of racing in NZ when you're a Pom. He loves it.........and obviously will be back once again next weekend.
