So Palmy, Wanganui and Huntly seem to be fine but just waiting to name names.
So that leaves Auckland, Kihikihi and Christchurch all having issues, which would also make 13 teams which Palmy management may not want.
I have been told by a Superstock driver in CHCH that there is definitely a team going but he would not name names.
Auckland and Kihikihi have both said on the other thread that they are still working towards teams, arent there yet, but arent giving up.

Wildcats are a squad rather than a named team as there are still a couple of variables to get the final six for this championship. The final team will be from the seven names mentioned.

The Warriors have been named.
Brad Ridland Graeme Ward Dion Mooney Scott Duncan Bevan Humphrey Ian Barron - 6th Driver
Management Team - Steve Heibner, Kerry Podjursky, Evan Mooney.
Brad Ridland will drive his usual 5K car (incidentally Brad was born in Wanganui & is the son of former promoter Phil Ridland). Graeme Ward will drive the 2nd Ridland car that Dion Mooney drove in the 2nd half of last year. Dion Mooney will be driving the 511P car normally pedalled by Mike Gaskin. Scott Duncan will be in his car (provided the motor arrives back). Bevan Humphrey will be in his own car. Ian Barron tried to lease a car but was unsuccessful.
With some non-Wanganui drivers in there I thought a note should be added re the Wanganui Superstock drivers. Darryl Taylor was unfortunately unavailable for the Teams Champs weekend. Mick Paul was approached but to his credit he felt he needed some more laps in the 35V car before committing to the Warriors. Both Daniel Matthews and Richard Watkins are awaiting motors for their cars while the Heibner tanks' Jag motor is still at CSL with the car not expected before the end of February. And the Doyle car that Mooney drove at the Teams Champs I believe is still in bits on the workshop floor. So with limited Superstock resources it has been a major task stitching together a "V" team.
Cheers.
Roger.

So..... with Ridland in the Warriors Team, Rick Taylor not ready, and Mitty not running, would it be a fair guess that KK have not got a Team???
Except..... there is a separate thread just gone up about the KK Team to be announced.
I'm confused?!

Taylor is ready from what he himself said in another thread but was not willing to put the freshly rebuilt car up for teams.
Mitty has also stated he is available for teams, well atleast the car is and that he was not wanted??
Maybe some of this has changed, time will tell ;D

Mitty has also stated he is available for teams, well atleast the car is and that he was not wanted?? Why would you make the car available if you were not wanted as a driver? Also with a driver in the V team, it would seem all is not well at KK. Have I got wrong end of the stick?

A great reason why the trial, that the 511P team are doing for Speedway New Zealand is a great option. One wonders if Matthews, Watkins, Heibner and Doyle would be in their team if they could have one of those low maintenence, low cost engines off the shelf that the 511P team have been enjoying using and racing every week this season on a working mans budget. Just a thought.... Cheers

No fun if you have a Superstock and eating hotdogs on the sideline. Would be a lot easier to get sponsorship if your car is out on the track every week too I supose...... Your trial is probably the biggest thing ever to help the class and we hear bugger all about it? Does Speedway NZ have much weekly interest in it with you ? Im sure there would be no "ring in" problems for most tracks with the sensible option of engine you are racing with EVERY week. Imagine Dunedin and two or three more South Island teams turning up again because the average wage earner can afford a SuperStock again. Good luck and we know your car (engine) will still be running at the end. Dont know about the chassis after Dion dishes out like he did last Teams weekend. LOL Cheers

LOL Cheers yeah we send a report to snz about every 4 meetings with data on engine how its performing whos driving lap times etc ettc.and have been meaning to set up a blog on the drivers board, but to be honest been a bit slack due running the car and house renovations.we are hoping the engine will be approved to run again next season so will do a facebook page and a blog on the drivers board on this forum.

No 6th driver named for the tiger's or they not telling anyone who it is. never know it could be higgins It could be.......but I doubt it. Brendan himself said he wouldn't go into a meeting like this cold, and he hasn't had a skid all year. He did it one other time and said he regretted it. There are a couple of options available for the Tigers, hopefully none of the teams will need their 6th driver at all.

Yeah, though did Higgy go in cold as one of the main 5? - would he make an exception for being 6th driver? - 2 cars in the Tigers are Higgins built. We definately all hope no 6 driver will be needed all weekend
