Was intrigued to hear over the PA last night that drivers were given 'final warnings' for cutting the pole line and making up places with sliding passes below the pole line.
The NZ Superstock Championships; as the premier title in this class, is this the place for 'final warnings' when caught infringing?

If the driver deliberately goes over the pole line to gain an advantage, especially at a national championship, I believe they should be penalised...by way of a points deduction...
If a driver is taking avoiding action or has been pushed over the pole line & ends up gaining an advantage it then becomes a coin toss as to how the SNZ Ref views the situation....

I reckon the slide pass is quite a sly way to look slightly out of control but still in control to put the pass on & try & fool the officials....does that sound like a conspiracy theory or what.... ;D ;D ;D

The 'final warning' came out again last night too. Joblin relegated two places in the first heat for a pole line infringement, but Rees warned for similar infringements.
As it happened, the Joblin relegation advanced two cars up one place - ironically Faram and Humphrey - so, based on that, it didn't have any effect on the overall result.
However, I'll ask the question again, why are some drivers being relegated for infractions like this while others are being given 'final warnings'? If they are being warned, they must have infringed....and if they have infringed, surely they must be issued with a similar penalty.

Perhaps they are grading the indiscretions. 1/ simply putting a wheel over the pole line 2/ putting more wheels over the pole line 3/ using the pole line to gain position 4/ using the pole line to eliminate another car
Not all worthy of the same penalty?.
Just a suggestion.

I was the drivers rep last night, here is the explanation, Joblin got relegated in the first heat for crossing the pole line, the difference between his and Peter Rees and Kyle Fraser (who was also called up ), was Joblin gained 2 positions by doing so, Peter Rees was called up twice and was told about this but didnt lose spots as he didnt gain anything from it. Hope this helps all understand.

So along the lines of....
1. Cross the line with no advantage= Slap on the wrist and marked down (repeat offenders may get relegated next time)
2.Cross the ling and gain advantage= Instant penalty.

Unusual experience listening to the commentary feed last night and seeing the actual footage posted by fumes.
Looking at the final race footage, I would say the the 79p car was lucky to not get called up to the officials when clearly taken to the infield near the end of the back straight as he did not pull away just kept his foot up it and forced way back on the track in the mid corner.
