For those who may not have realised, it was Tony Whittaker in McCabes car for the Mustangs in both finals night races, up against Carl Ross in that epic one on one battle. Tony realise he was too many laps down to win by racing or slowing Ross, stopping him was the only option and he came mighty close. Not a bad effort for someone who has not raced at all this season and then jumps into a car he has never driven before. Hopefully those who questioned why he was in the team at all now realise he was worth his weight in gold. For me, one of the drives of the weekend.

Thanks for that, no we hadn't realised, and I totally agree that it was an epic battle, and it was the race of the night for us. You certainly couldn't tell he hadn't driven the car before or raced all season.

funny part was that ross was four laps up and was slowing down and waiting for him so he could have another battle

His car didnt seem to be handling that well, at the end and every time he got a break Whittaker kept catching him, so he slowed it all down. Then when he popped his tyre, he done that even more. It could have swung either way, and it was an awesome race to watch.

Not sure if Ross was slowing down and waiting for another battle or keeping a safe distance

funny part was that ross was four laps up and was slowing down and waiting for him so he could have another battle Think Ross knew he was in front but slowed as his car had a puncher so knew he would be caught by the flying P car at put of the end. Was great cleaver tactics by both drivers, best battle of the weekend.
