Watched the sport news, nothing there... maybe they going to do a bit just before close up? Close up is on TV1 not TV3. However I just watched pretty much the whole hour of 3 news, and nothing. Perhaps its going to be on Sports Tonight later?

Was told 3 News, but it didn't happen. Such is life with speedway, often treated as a drop-able item.

Oh well... think it is about time that the Media ( eg TV ) realise that speedway is something that people want to view. Perhaps we should all start writing to the networks stating that we need speedway on tv ;D ;D

Interesting how they show the sevens rugby live(?) and when you see the grandstand during the finals it is only half full (if that) as people more interested in the partying vs the game.
Compare that to the finals of the teams champs, could you see an empty seat anywhere?

Well, that was pretty lame. Was good for the sport to get some exposure though. Does anyone know when the Teams Champs will be shown on TV and what channel?

Watching sports tonight we get 10 seconds it shows the rees roll and part of the panthers victory lap. I did like the presenters word though.
"and despite local boy Peter Rees having an impromptue bbq the panthers went on to the top"
Crowd of 30,000 attended as-well.

Crowd of 30,000 attended as-well. I could have told you that simply based on the rough capacity of the place. I also worked out that gates takings for the weekend were probably around $1.2 Million, assuming an average ticket value of $40

It was short, but nice to see free advertising for the sport in mainstream television.
Ive heard the meeting will be replayed in the next few months on TV3, but Barry B would be your best bet at info, seeing as hes the informal media man for the sport.

But as a simpler version, lets says every one of those 30000 people bought 4 cans each, at $8 a can. That comes to just under $1 Million, at least half of which is going to be profit, probably closer to 75% of it would be profit. But that is something like 120000 cans, which is an absolute shed-load of cans, so I'm sure the actual number is much lower, probably half that at most. My guess is that the actual number is closer to 10000, which would still be a lot.
