Who got injuried? what were the injuries? how many got injuried and what is the longest rteams race in history.

I remember the Baypark Busters and Stratty having a very long race at Palmy back in 2003, 3 different drivers (from memory) taking the white flag but never making it around to see the checkered.
Then in Auckland there was the Nelson Tigers up against Welly when a 3-wheeled Boote got stopped just short of the line, probably a year or two earlier?
But I think the longest teams race in history is possibly the Rotorua Rebels vs the Baypark Busters at Auckland in 1994, which took almost 24 hours to complete........
Although there was a final at PN that involved Rotorua too I think, that took some months to be declared official.......

Regarding injuries, three or four seasons ago, 11 of the 60 drivers needed hospital treatment or significant St John intervention at the least. That rate has declined -- Hans devices, better seat wings around the head, new helmet standards, even better seats perhaps?
While there were some banged up bodies, we have seen compound fractures, tongues bitten through, even the Peter Barry tragedy in the past and I am not aware of anyone suffering at anything like that level at the teams champs this season.

Paul Gaskin broke the posts!!! ;D ;D ;D Well, it was Ricco's Rampage that caused them to be broken, so technically, he is in part responsible for them being broken, although Paul Gaskin played a part in it as well. |

You were all in (almost) adjacent beds at the hospital too!
I do think the serious injury toll was lighter this season.

Yep they were definitely Expecting one or two. For some reason the nurses get pretty grumpy with speedway! Fortunately it didn't take long for Peter Locke to put a smile on there faces with his cheeky comments  |

2005 9 of us were in there on the 2nd night ( of a 3 day meeting)
