Just wondered if there will be anyway of catching this meeting on line. Listened in on few Championships this year over here in Aust and would love to be able to hear this one. NI Stocks in Gissy last week was great. Does the club have the facilities for this? , something i beleive SNZ should have as part of the process in applying for NZ championships. My thoughts only.

something i beleive SNZ should have as part of the process in applying for NZ championships. My thoughts only. SNZ should make either a live broadcast or live streaming of the event compulsary? Why? I think we're in danger of forgetting who or what these titles are all about....or have I got it wrong?

Dont think you have it wrong Barry, regardless of the sport, and Professional Golf and Tennis are prime examples, its not about the money its all about winning. Winning the title the b all and end all. I have just returned back to Aus after a flying visit back to Gisborne and i caught up with both the president and Treasurer of the club. Both told me the live streaming of the race meetings have had no effect on gate takings and in fact beleive it has helped the club in its promoton to sponsors. The Gisborne club have had great feedback from all involved in the club from the drivers, crews and sponsors and fans on its live streaming. I am sure if people can get to a meeting they will, there is after all nothing like been there to watch and smell our great sport but we have to also be able to cater for those who, for whatever reason cannot get to the meetings. Live streaming and in most cases only Audio would satisfy the majority of race fans sitting at home , whether that be in NZ or elsewhere around the world. I feel and as i have said before my thoughts only , that with all the technology available clubs should be jumping onboard to do this. SNZ put in place a number of pre selection points that each club have to pass before they are able to hold championships and NZ titles have had a number of new ones put in place in the last couple of years , why cant this be part of it and if not why not, i would like to hear there thoughts on this.

I'm with RichardJ . If can't get a speedway because mine is not running. I listen into Gizzy and Cromwell to see what happens. Geez I must have a sad life. I don't kind speedway supporters would stay home to listen to a live stream if they could get the real thing if they could.

I agree. wether its being streamed or not would never be a deciding factor in wether I went to a speedway meeting or not. I have followed several meetings this year and am looking forward to the video streaming next season as well.
Embrace the technology and put together a product that you can earn off and it will help the sport grow.

If the clubs can earn of it, I too don't see much of a problem.
What macgorians think is a little irrrlevent too however, as mostly they're already addicted to speedway and by and large turn up week in, week out, whatever the meeting and whatever the weather.

Would that be considered pretty piss poor sportsman ship? Yes he was tagged but it happens in racing or do we allow such actions during a championship event?

Looking at these photos.. it looks like a pathetic crowd for a NZ Championship ! Has anyone got an idea of crowd numbers!!! Is this how popular this Class is.........or should these prestious events be held at more attractive venues ?? I seem to say this every year Cheers Wiseowl

It all adds up to a negative effect on the gate take.
