There was many, many to choose from, but the mother of them all must have been when Levein was side on, backed into the wall with broken steering, and got hit by a H car (Karl Ross?) at full speed.
The hit was so hard it spun 360 and flipped, with the wing flying off upon impact. (I can't remember who, but wasn't someone at the teams in PAlmy sent off for hitting a stationery car. What's the rule?)
What was your hit of the weekend?

What was your hit of the weekend? alan levien was not stationary he was damaged but was trying to get himself around the right way to try and be of some help to his team im guessing, karl took the shot to make sure he did not go any further, team bodies and heat of the moment make it hard to distinguish whos car you hitting, but there is a funny side that i got told about to do with the fact that it was alan karl got, but will leave that to others to tell ;D

My understanding is the rules in teams racing is slightly different, you can hit a stationery car as long as that car is facing the flow of traffic or 90 degrees to the wall. Normal racing it is not allowed to a hit stationery car

Normal racing it is not allowed to a hit stationery car Earlier in palmy teams this year, D tarrent of the mustangs was sent to the infield for a stationary hit on a waikato car on the main straight who was in an attacking position. Then excluded from the race for skidding up the grass ;D A friend of his also told me he got 2 weeks for the incident. Guess its all about the inconsistancy thats being talked about.

think you will find the 2 weeks was for his attitude in the decision and then skidding up the sacred grass

In teams racing you can hit a stationary car in an attacking position......I seem to recall in the PN incident quoted above this was not the case, hence the driver being sent to the infield? - or was it judged that DT had come of the grass or from the wrong angle himself? I can't quite remember now. It wasn't as simple as stated above anyway, so no real inconsistency there.

the waikato car was parked 90 degrees to the wall. DT came around and with no bad intentions smacked the front of it. ( more for steering damage).
The waikato car had been there for no longer then a lap i recall?
anyways thats history now lol

Attack position is defined at anwhere from a right agnle back towards the direction of racing. A car park in the wall at 90 is in an attacking position

I seem to remember the conversation going along the lines of the stationary car (at palmy) wasnt facing the right direction but D Tarrant couldnt be sure so made the hit incase, heat of the moment etc.

The incident in Palmy was directly in front of where we were sitting, the car was not facing the right direction, it would of been 70 degress of the wall

HMMMM hit of the weekend? Would have to be the kick in the balls to all the drivers and supports that turn up to an event, just to get shafted by half arsed inconsitant calls by the refs.

We interrupt this positive thread to bring you a dose of moaning and whinging. Normal service resumes. From what I have seen on video, there were a number of great hits!

I thought the hit involving the wanganui tank (ron tye?) and the wellington car.
Looked as though the wanganui car was going to put in the big hit but the wellington car evaded him then another guy came in and slammed him

If your car is Stationary and deemed to be in a position where it can not be hit by another car (unsafe) then the race should be stopped and your car towed off the track.
