The draw is going to be critical for this event. In the previous times it has been used it has been notable that some "mediocre" teams have made it through when drawn against weak teams (by thrashing them).

With Bruce Robertson now on the Alleycats side I'm hoping for a rigged draw to assist our progress.

It's a tough event to predict, especially based on form so far this season. The Pumas will need to improve to win, won't they?

The top 4 from the previous season are always seeded apart from each other, meaning they all meet 2 non-seeded teams the following year and never one of the other 3 seeded teams (until the second night, at least).

But meeting non-seeded teams isn't always as easy as it sounds, as was found in the Superstocks a couple of years back when the Panthers failed to make the top 4 and came back the following season as one of the non-seeds.

I'm happy enough with our draw - could have been a lot worse. We will need a decisive win against Stratford to progress.

Have to feel sorry for Rotorua. Drew Manawatu Steelers and the Alleycats at Huntly and now Wellington and the Puma's.

Ricco is one car this is a team event which ever team is better on the night will win
