Might have something to do with the cost of promoting the meeting 2pac. The public wants to see carnage, and carnage doesn't come cheaply. I don't know how much appearance money Bruce Robertson pays each team, but however much it is, it would go nowhere near covering the damage bills at the end of the weekend.
If you want to see guys putting their big-money cars on the line (and judging by the crowds year after year, plenty do), you have to be prepared to pay for the privilege. It's called "the market" ;D

Supply and demand. Charge $15 per night and you'd be turning thousands away. Charge $1500 per night and the place would be empty. It's about charging the amount that will just fill the stadium every time I'd suggest, maximizing the meeting result for the business running the show. There's certainly nothing wrong with charging twice as much for something that worth twice as much as something else.

Was talking to a guy on the plane this morning who had been to the 7's. Thats $100 PER NIGHT. And he reckoned a lot of people werent even watching the rugby.
So the price for Teams, to see something so amazing you wouldnt even think of not watching, is really good value. Bet there wasnt a million $ worth of boots out on the rugby field, but you add up the value of the cars out at anyone time!

They need all the bums on seats they can get at Eden Park at the moment so it might even get cheaper.

Watching Auckland or the Blues would be like a regular night of speedway ;D Stands half full, if that. Teams would compare to the likes of world cup in rugby at Eden Park, full to the brim, and it was more than $14 dollars to watch the Oz/Ab's game.

Because it is worth it! I personally think for years Speedway has not differentiated the cost of a club meeting to a huge meeting, and now that many familys have to pick and choose what meetings to see, they really need to.

The prices are not dear. this is the premier speedway event of the season. you will be at the best facility in the country with packed houses both nights and all additional cost incurred to ensure a well run event. This issue comes up every year and I dont know why people always seemed surprised when it has been the same cost for at least the last 3 seasons. Get over it and get your backside trackside for the greatest show on earth and remember there are a number of Poms that have paid a heap more than 40 bucks to get to this event. when you bump in to them ask then what it costs to go to a soccer match over there and then think yourself lucky

I rate Teams higher than that World Cup final so am very happy to pay $40 for 11/12/13 once in a life time races in 1 night!!
