5 car teams of Saloons from the two Far North tracks interclub Challenge Trophy donated by Kaikohe's John & Janet Hussey 2nd year of running the trophy. Last season it was a draw!
Taipa vs Kaikohe over two weekends...Taipa on 20 January 2013 and Kaikohe 2 February 2013. In the final tally up of points over the two rounds at both Taipa and Kaikohe speedway tracks this year the individual drivers’ points were: Taipa Team – Roy Walker 42, Ray Dare 34, Terry Grigg 33, Shirley Andresen 22, Tony Cree 13, Kaikohe Team – Ray Jordan 38, John Hussey 33, Keith Wilson 27, Nick Caldwell 9, Geordie Inglis 7.
Taipa Team emerged the victors with a tally of 144 points to Kaikohe Team’s tally of 114 points.

Northland’s V8 muscle Super Saloons and Saloons would like to see challengers from down country come and race them on their home tracks at the two big 2-day meets at the end of the season; Kaikohe’s Easter Weekend 30 & 31 March 2013 and Taipa’s Queens Birthday 1 & 2 June 2013.
