So many people around me had no clue of the rules and could not work out why cars had been sent off.
Wouldn't think it would be a big job having a bit of communication between stewards and commentators.

There is not the time for the Refs to be talking to commentators. They have to watch every race make their decisions quickly then in between the races talk to the Drivers concerned, along with the team manager to explain the decision... then be ready for the next race. There could be someone who is part of the commentary or reporting crew who sits in on the discussion with the drivers but I doubt that would be allowed. Maybe someone who is part of the promotion could be put in the role of communicating decisions to the commentary team? Agree its a good idea to keep the paying public informed and would even more improve the professionalism of the event. It would have to be someone who 100% understands the rules and is not biased in any way to put his or her own thoughts to the commentators.... hmmmm is there such a person?

after each race I met with the officials at the 240's and asked if any problems and any changes and reason for decisions and if any relayed those to the crowd, it is a option that you can organise

I actually thought we pretty much covered every car being sent off AS it was sent off. The noise of the crowd likely drowned out much of the commentary, but the information in most/all cases was immediately available to both myself on the infield and the boys in the booth

Dead right Barry; the commentary last night was as good as I have ever heard at Palmy. Who was the team. It was the normal guy from Palmy, and Jamie McCarthy in the commentary box, Barry Brown on the infield and David Poppelwell in the pits. On reflection, i think the main reason that the Palmy guy is not so good normally is because he doesn't have anyone to bounce off because he was really good in the "team" situation last night.

I don't know how well it was publicized, but the commentary was been broadcast on 108fm. I thought that the info coming across was great and pretty much spot on. Normally you don't hear any of the commentary on the infield as the public address speakers are facing to the crowd, and with the noise of the cars it gets drowned out. Made following who was where a lot easier. If punters are having problems hearing the commentary ... this may be an option. I believe that the broadcast is quite localised and is only able to be heard in the Arena area.
