Thought I make a mention of the drivers who stood out to me on night 1 of the Teams Nationals
13m David Ellsworth Right at the top of the list for mine is Ellsworth. A week ago he was suspended for 22 days (rescinded) and tonight he thrust himself into the superstar bracket. I don't think Baypark wins either race without him. He was fast, ellusive and made some of the best blockmen in the country look like they'd never driven a superstock before. He is the key man for Baypark heading into night two.
86n Blair Cunningham The seemingly immovable tank proved once again that you don't have to annihilate people to be effective. It was not unusual to see two cars being held up by Cunningham at the same time.
9a Mike Mac Taking the other approach to blocking was Auckland ring in Mike Mac. Whereas Cunningham used the back bumper Mike Mac tends to use the side rails and front bumper. His spectacular hit on the 95h down the front straight was one of the best of the night.
Other than those three I'm struggling to think of another driver who stood out in both races. Perhaps some other may have spotted some more stars on night 1 of the teams nationals.

How about everybody that put their hands up to race and put their cars and bodies on the line for a pounding.
Personally my night one picks would be Jared Gray for his massive hit on Simon Joblin and Shane Penn for an epic game of tag with Mikey Mac.

for me, 86n was the quiet achiever sadly he was not as effective in the final as he had been earler.

Jared gray is definitly underestimated. Shane penn is a top class teams racer. It looked like once he was taken out in the busters race the team fell apart. Gary ellis surprised me, it stayed reliable and he gave it his all.
On another note .. .....and Macgor has edited this bit out . All those drivers put them selves out there to have a go and are not deserving of the sort of criticism you posted here.
