And at 5 min 10 seconds the 84N car does exactly the same thing to Miers.

I've got another angle of it and it looks he was actually trying to avoid hitting the nelson car.

looks like he went to hit the back from the centre of the field, missed/slid off to the pole line and come back on. Could be subjective as in lost control couldn't it?

dont think the 84n car was quite on the grass Look again, you can see the dust from the infield.

As I commented after night 1 there was grass stuff going on all the time. It was a real problem all weekend.
At least in this instance it didn't affect the final result as the Panthers already had the race sown up by that point.
You would have to say the officials were very consistent in this area.

My biggest query would be about a Tiger reversing to keep blocking a Mustang (Jack Miers) who had reversed on the grass. I really thought that you could only reverse if something was blocking your way, not to keep blocking someone.. let alone when they were on the infield.

if you watch it closely Shane actualy is trying to not hit him by breaking and at that speed you dont stop on a dime, good win

The difference with the Tiger car WAS that he was in contact the whole time he was attacking which started from the track. Just my view watching the vid. A fan of both teams, actually any team racing,,,,,,

it wasnt as if shane penn deliberately came off the infield get a grip man there has been worse than that how many teams races have you watched in your life time

I'd suggest that if you rewatched every teams race from the weekend there would be a similar incident in every race, and some far worse by other teams which were not penalised.

On Steve the Maoris Video at 6:58 you can clearly see that it was almost entirely momentum. Sure he may have been able to turn the other way BUT because of the rules, he has to try and get back on the track at the same straight or corner, and Shane would know that hard out, so instinct would have made him turn toward the track again, and momentum took him and he tried not to hit, and tried to stop/slow..

Sour grapes thread.Palmy won mate, get over it.You really think that incident cost nelson the race or even had a remote bearing on the result? Panthers wouldve had to have had 3 cars blow up for nelson to have won from the position palmy were in.Dont call out 1 team for an indescretion when there were MULTIPLE indescretions from other teams over the 2 nights.

in this video at about the 4.40 mark, you can clearly see shane penn go onto the grass and come off the grass attacking a tigers car, last time i checked this was illegal been doing it all season ref, and didn't it cost them the title last year? same car to I think.
