Hi David, this is a very cool bit of footage. A bit over half from Rotorua Paradise Valley, with the rest ~ mid seveties Western Springs. Much appreciate you putting this on here, Thankyou. Apart from the background music getting a bit annoying (I never thought to turn it off), seeing those early races particuly seeing the tow vehicles, that jump done by Wally Page? & that figure 8 race that I'm pretty sure my dad won. Very cool indeed, Thankyou, BL

Likewise a big thanks from me , the Rotorua footage was before I had discovered Rotorua but I certainly recognised many of the cars. What a treat. Awesome.

That is very cool. How much footage would there be of Tank 1 racing in it's original form - particularly getting delt to. Very good, thanks.

What an absolutely brilliant piece of footage which brought back so many great memories of the meetings I enjoyed watching so much at Paradise Valley Reaceway. I was at most of the meetings and it was great seeing the colours and shapes of those stock cars again. Tony Baker 4R was always considered a "flag racer" but seeing him dishing it out to Bruce Robertson 1P tank certainly changes that thought. Mind you Bruce got his own back on Tony a few years in 1974 during Roorua's hosting of the NZ Champs.
Where did that model of 4R come from and does it stil exist?
I can supply drivers names of most of the cars in the clip too.
Many many thanks for sharing this historic footage.
