Off face book this morning.

Just wanted to point out the act of sportsmanship (Ironically Friday afternoon, one of the Tigers management was saying what a great ambassador Pete was and here he goes showing it again)People seem to have pretty firm ideas on whether her should race or not but ultimately that's up to him, the powers to be (here comes the 22 day reminders) and another thread on here.

I'd prefer to see stories of his sportsmanship and what he's done for the sport instead of arguments over whether he races or not so here's a new thread.

Like others pete is a legend of our sport in many ways competitor, car builder etc! Genuine good bugger too

I have been involved with Speedway for over 45years as a driver, and than as an SNZ Official, and in my humble opinion Peter Rees is by far the best stock car/superstock driver I have seen, exceeding the deeds of other Legends like Evans, Free, Beirstein, Tony Mac, Handisides, Graham Stretch, Dunlop, etc etc. I have been lucky enough to have rubbed shoulders with all the above and Peter stands out ahead of them in the driving and skills department, and as a "Good Bloke" and ambassador of the sport,Pete is up their with any of them with the support and selfless help he gives to other competitors, and as an official I have always found Pete to a pleasure to deal with even when he is "Disciplined" or spoken too over any incidents.

I wish Pete a speedy recovery, and I hope for his sake that he does take the time away from racing to allow his body to heel, and we can than have the pleasure of watching him race for many years to come.

Have to add my 2c in here...

Im building a brand new car and on a budget (as much of a budget as can be when building a new car) and bought a whole lot of stuff off Pete, gBox/bellhousing/clutch etc and when the gearbox that was under trial found out to be not very good, gave me a full refund on the lot and is even doing a sweet deal on the new drivetrain im buying off him. not obliged to do any of the above yet still did it, for the good of the sport and for his own name aswell i suppose, for sure i would always recomend him to anyone from his business side of view.
