Des Clark passed away this morning. Condolences to Brian, family and friends.
Love him or hate him there is no denying he was one of lifes characters and I am sure there will be a story or two about him!!
Without him Foxy wouldn't be racing today so this is somrthing the Fox family will never forget.
Funeral details to follow when confirmed.
Rest in Peace Des.

Wow, this is a shock. A well known character around the tracks. Donovan Des helped me with my first car, Clark built and my second car, owned by Des too.
Condolances to the Clark family.

Just over a year ago we were sitting around trying to work out how and who was going to tell Des that Dad had passed away. I drew the short straw and rang him. I was touched by how deeply he was effected and by the deep friendship they shared. Many hours spent helping each other out, talking on the phone and wheeling and dealing on trade me. Des had a strong connection to our family helping Craig with his racing, supporting Mum after Dads passing and making Dads later years so much more fulfilled. We pass on our deepest sympathies to the family and all his other friends. If there is something beyond this life we hope that the two of them are still wheeling and dealing somewhere. Rest peacefully Karen and Shane Carey, Craig and Michelle Burton and especially Noeline Burton

Sorry that I will not be able to attend Des,s Funeral tomorrow. Will not be forgoten was thinking about Des the other day. I have a fishing trip coming up. I had the pleasure to have a couple of fishing trips with Des at Whangamata. Laid back, said he never got seasick he was first followed by myself in our defence it was bloody rough. Many a discussion some good some not. Speedway die hard who was never afraid to get his point across. Always trying to sell me a motor and a very proud supporter of team Fox. Will miss the smile and the quick sense of humour Rest in peace Des.
