Hi Roger
It may not be the Hypermac that Lance uses at the NZs, it might be the tried and trusted package that is used instead.

love to get him in our rotary powered saloon and see what he did with it not sure he would want to but if he did the offers there
It went quite well back in the day with Gary Manifold & Paul Higgs. Great to see it still out there.

Anthony Makes sense I guess, he is the current NI Champ in the old car and is on pace with most. I do feel he would be more likely to either win or bomb in the new car, whereas the old car is more likely to yield him a respectable 5th or 6th.

Well done Lance, great commitment for over 4 decades, hope the new car is a great success. Annoying that the thread is hijacked on the bodyshape issue ( which I don't believe is any issue ). Guys start a new thread if you want. The same old chestnut pops up about big budgets winning the day. This is a bunch of rubbish, yes you need a budget, all racing is expensive. But the guy spending the most money certainly isn't guaranteed to win. I could go through the BK competitors from Baypark Monday night and come up with at least 5 very poor performances verses money spent. Speedway is a very complex and technical sport, it takes years to master, and those that do stand ahead of the rest regardless of their chequebook size. Guess many of the comments come from guys who talk the talk yet have never walked the walk.

Not in 2015. In the saloons or super saloons the chequebook (and or investment) has to match the skills. There will always be the exception on occasion, but the occasions are becoming fewer as the cars become more specialised. That's life! It's a package that includes serious investment, serious skills!
Like jap super, I noted a few big budget competitors down the pecking order at Baypark on Saturday, and have noticed this increasingly over the past three/four seasons. The skill sets and team work has become as equally critical as the investment.

Murray, how big a chequebook are you talking ? Case in point the ex Fraser Phantom saloon sold for $22K a few months ago. That's a front running car. What components are you lacking that cost the money ? The biggest money seems to be spent on engines, but on most tracks ( probably Baypark excluded ) the horsepower really only results in excess wheelspin.

dating back a few years we often heard of much the same while being invovled in this class ,there was a investment for sure and serious skills ,but not large cheque book expense that is simply blown out proportion .We all used to here this after racing over a few drinks ,look at each other smile and go home with more victories than most . 66 s rules aye blondie Much the same is heard with the sprinter, but in fact it over a season is much cheaper to run, than a super saloon .

Murray might be a bit out of touch as to how much a new super is and to be up the pointy end how much they cost to run

Not true. There was a few flames but quickly put out. Possible fuel line issues according to the commentators.
Hopefully out for the next race. Was definitely going well and looked well set up for one and a half races
