The issue was a oil line came off the car which drowned the muffler and exhaust which caused the fire .Lance and the crew fixed the oil line but did not have enough oil with us to get the tank up to the right level so he did not run the car without sufficient oil .
He was very impressed with the car in the first race where he started of the back and finished 2nd.
Hey Nakifans is your dad going to race at all this season ??

Firstly Macca isn't my Dad, I'm almost old enough to be his. Doubtful this season , at best last few mtgs. 96a looks better in flesh, and the photo's looked cool. Those that were quick on here to criticise the body will be eating humble pie when they see it on the track themselves. Outstanding performance and handling straight out of the box. Glad to hear that no damage was done with the engine bay fire.

The criticism had nothing to do with performance, ability or even presentation. The criticism is all about the lack of imagination and style with the physical shape of these cars (not just the 96a) and that wont change no matter how good the photos are. Have a look at the photos of 881 from last year and 891 from this year, take the blinkers off and then honestly say which car looks cooler. There is no doubt that these Hypermacs are extremely well engineered and successful chassis, but why for the love of god do they have to look so bloody ugly? put 491 body from last year on them and then you have an outstanding winner in every way.
