Oceanview Speedway Wanganui welcomes all Stockcars to this meeting. You want be disappointed this is a fantastic trophy. Supers there is the Westcaost trophy to challenge for. See you there, you know you will always be welcome.

This should be a terrific meeting. I understand Bevan Humphrey and Shaun Pearson will both be there to have a hitout before racing for the Warriors in Teams Champs. It's just a shame that Stratford is running its King of the Mountain stockcars on the same night, but hopefully a decent contingent of Palmy drivers will decide that the short drive to Wanganui is the way to go.

Any ideas on numbers for both stockcar classes please There are around 20 Wanganui stockcars this season, plus visitors. Not that many Palmy cars going to Stratford (Rees x3, the Lots of Pots team and a couple of others), so hopefully there'll be a good contingent of Palmy cars as well, given that Palmerston North and Wanganui were Charlie's haunts. Should be a reasonable field of Superstocks too.

I thought Charlie wanted the trophy raced for on Sundays

High cloud and a bit of sun at the moment. There's the odd shower forecast, but it shouldn't be enough to stop racing

Wins for Dion Mooney and Kyle Heibner in the two Charlie Berntsen heats, and for Kerry Podjursky and Jack Miers in the West Coast Superstocks. Very good fields in both classes.

couldn't see the point of rainout imo only 1 heat each left
very light rain , the track could have been wheelpacked palmys had way worse
the ground wasn't even wet and we didn't need wipers leaving the track
...but prob the blue hats who knows but it happened quick it was like after the ministock race that's it farout
ps the commentator needs to go to minties and hickeys school
just a bit guttered traveling from wellington ....but that's life
ps the podjusky tank is fast and handles

Unfortunately Superstock, the rain before the meeting had the final say. Wanganui didn't have the luxury of having saloons, mods or sprintcars to do some wheelpacking, and once the loose, wet dirt on top was gone, the clay underneath was rock-hard and the track became a skating rink. Bear in mind that, until last night, we have had no rain of any significance in Wanganui this year. It's not looking good for the meeting to finish today either. As I type this it's gloomy outside, and more rain is forecast. That's heartbreaking for the Wanganui team, who put a huge amount of effort into this meeting, and Big Bad Charlie was certainly enjoying it until the rains came. As for Kerry Podjursky, we was flying in the first race, and the 56V tank is handling really well. As a minor sponsor of the beast, I was delighted to see him win the first race, and with a sixth place in the second he's right in the mix. That's unlike to make Rebels and Wildcats supporters sleep easily this week

We may not have had any significant rain in January, but February has started off very wet. There'll be no racing at Wanganui today, and the remaining heats of the Charlie Berntsen Trophy, West Coast Superstocks will be raced on Saturday 14th February. The Youth Ministocks will race again on a date to be confirmed.
