From memory gates started opening round 3pm friday & saturday last year, can anyone confirm if it is the same this year?? I note ont he Palmy website it mentions carparks opening from 12pm but wonder about the gates. Need to plan when to go and line up!

I have no issue being there that long at all. Would buy a $50 ticket if it was just me but alas it's not! But thanks for the confirmation!

The group of us dressed in pink certainly lower the standards up there

Where we like to sit every year for the last 8 years is GA... So we just head to the track at 3 it's all part of teams sitting around for 4 hours lol

The beauty of buying a $50 ticket (if you can afford it) is it allows you to wander the pits for an hour or so and not have to worry about finding a seat. Roll on the weekend!!

It's $10 per night extra, which is $20, and if you're paying for even one more person (as many do as a couple) that's an extra $40 for the weekend, so it adds up quite quick Ben. You're assuming we're not talking about locals.If you're travelling I have often advocated buying a ticket in advance to be sure of getting in not pushing them to buy a grandstand seat if they don't want one.
