No Super Saloons or Saloons racing this weekend at Waikaraka Park, next meeting for Saloons and Super Saloons will be the 9th May for the John Webster Memorial.

Marbledraw and reverse for heats 1 and 2. Highest points off the front for KOP title race.

Something a little different is that there is a front row challenge in place. Means that the top qualifiers can agree to leave from the rear of the field and chase a greater prizepool if they come through to win. Bit risky given title is on last race but if track is good enough one of the two guys off the front may agree to give it a nudge. Decision will be made before feature by the drivers concerned. Will anyone have the courage to give it a shot?? Time will tell I suppose!!

it is very confusing as website says saloons, and also stockcars, wish all classes could be listed easily to see, could well be worth trip up depending on how Anzac morning pans out

I will spell it out for you for ease.

Classes running are stockcars. Superstocks. Modifieds. 6 shooters. Ministocks and Streetstocks.
Pits are going to be full to overflowing according to Bruce. Heaps of visitors. Ollie Browne memorial for superstocks. 290 champs for Streetstocks. Also champ meetings for 6 shooters and ministocks. KOP for mods as well. Throw in monster truck and fireworks.

In all fairness to Gribbs the WP website is out of date as opposed to their Facebook page. With regards to the 6 Shooters, is it the Auckland Champs they are racing for?

This Saturday night the Six Shooters are racing the King of the Park. The 0800MUSCLE Auckland Six Shooter Champs are on May 9th at 4 pm as a support class along with the Saloons, for the Webster Memorial for Midgets, Salter Cartage Sprintcars, SuperStocks and SuperSaloons.

Saloons would normally race as part of "King of the Park" but pits are full to over flowing. As it is about 10 cars will have to pit in the Car Park.

Was late arriving and left before the end (although as it was the first time I'd managed to get trackside in 8 weeks I was still pretty rapt!!) but was still an entertaining night. Streetstocks numbered only about 10 cars (unless they started with more and I missed one of their races) but really turned on a good show, as did most of the other classes actually. Foxy took up the Front Row Challenge in the Mods but couldn't catch Bradley Lane. I didn't really take notice of many results though, sorry. Plenty of action in the Stockcars too.

This was a good night at WP with good sized fields. The only thing that fell flat was the Monster Truck. Looking forward to the 9th May.
