More gut wrenching news that that none want to hear, that we hear too often. Condolences to Dennis and family, close friends. (Thank you Wayne Andrews)

RIP Jeanette. An Awards organiser in 2003 & 2004 as well as that mentioned above, Jeanette and Dennis had hoped to be in Wellington on Saturday night for the 20th Anniversary Awards ceremony, but were unable to make for what are now very obvious reasons. Kia Kaha Dennis.
My first ever trip to WG was for a Battle of the Stocks about 20 years ago (back in my days of doing photography), and when Jeanette heard I was coming down she arranged to personally pick me up from the airport, take me to the track, show me around the place and introduce me to all sorts of people. I never forgot that hospitality.

RIP- a truly amazing lady who inspired many, and cast the die that has made Woodford Glen the success story that it is. Jeanette was never above helping anyone- one year she was Promoter at Woodford Glen during the summer, and lap scorer at Ellesmere during the winter! My thoughts are with Dennis and the family AJ

Our thoughts are with Dennis and the Family at this time. Jeanette was very respected within the speedway family all over New Zealand and will be dearly missed by us all, not only for the extensive wealth of knowledge she had in the field, but as a well respected person and friend. Thank you Jeanette for all the advice and knowledge you shared with me many years ago as I ventured into the position I hold today. R.I.P Jeanette. Yvonne Thomas, President of The Oxford Speedway

Such devastating news. We first met Jeanette and Dennis at the inaugural Battle of the Stocks in 1994. In 2001 l was about to become involved with the Promotion of Rotorua. Stan conveniently broke a few bones and spent a few weeks in Christchurch Hospital and Jeanette took the time to give me a master class on how to promote a track. She was my inspiration and my mentor. I have received a few accolades over the years, not hard when you were taught by the best.
The annual trek to the Battle of the Stocks was always special knowing we would have a great catchup with them both and swap stories on the various aspects of the sport we love.
RIP Jeanette and all our love to Dennis
Stan and Sonja

I can honestly say Woodford Glen would not be the place it is today without the hard work Jeanette and Dennis did in the early days. RIP Jeanette

All of the above comments are so true, and frankly its hard to add any more. Jeannette was there almost right from the beginning when the club took over the track from its creators almost forty years ago, and has had huge input into shaping what Woodford Glen is today. She encouraged me to become involved all those years ago, was always supportive, and always had some good ideas if I had none to write about. I really don’t think many people truly understand how hard she worked behind the scenes to build the club and promotion in the early years, not to mention being such a passionate supporter of Dennis's racing career. My sincere condolences and best wishes to Dennis and the family. RIP.

Our condolences to Dennis, family and friends. I remember when I first contacted Jeanette when a group of North Island drivers were heading down to the NZ'S in Invercargill. I wanted to organise some meetings down South and when I rang Jeanette she came on board immediately with the idea. Many phone calls later a North Island Invitation vs South Island Invitation Teams Race was arranged as well as the Battle of Stocks was hatched...Jeanette totally got on board with the idea to help promote stock cars in the South and lets face it back in the early 90's there was a huge gap.... Jeanette was just rapt and between Jeanette and the Blenheim promotion we arranged 3 meetings...it truly was the start of the North and South car's becoming closer and awesome friendships were started and are still there today. The South Island hospitality was just fantastic, this first year was before Woodford Glen had their own motor camp, Jeanette arranged social events while we were there with the help of her committee, her promotional skills were second to none. The awesome meetings and the birth of the Battle of the Stocks with 5 foot 7inch trophies was born, and all these years later this promotional meeting was most definately a major achievement by Jeanette. If it had not been for her absolute commitment and passion I don't think this event would have kicked off like it did. Jeanette was an amazing lady that we both had the pleasure of knowing and will be missed by the speedway fraternity. RIP Jeanette.
