We really rate Gavin as a teams racer and am sure he will have more invitation's to teams race than from just the Giants. After watching last years Stockcar teams I feel the way Asher and Ethan Rees complimented each others driving styles, that combination will be a huge asset to the team.

Have Gisborne Speedway actually said they are putting forward a Super Stock team this season? Most other tracks have already done a Teams race. Remember it was the Rees's who choose not to race at palmy teams last year, maybe they still feel the same way.

Yes they have definitely said they are putting forward a team. They have attempted to have a practice teams race, they have teams that are keen, finding a suitable date has been the problem.

There is noway Gavin will be left out of the Giants. In my opinion Gavin was the best blocker in the Country last year and in a Stockcar i might add. He proved a very difficult man to get around and really helped the All Stars to not be underestimated. I cant think of any reason why the Giants would not be allowed to race in Palmy its a win win for all except their opposition. rumour has it unless a team pulls out there will be no gizzy giants........bruce and puk don't want a odd number off teams at teams champs I believe...well that's the rumour floating around palmy anyway

I always thought the Palmerston North b team was always included because they were always short of a team each year.
Would think Bruce would be keener on 12 regional teams than a pn B team?
Will also be interesting to see if all the same clubs can get a team together given the shift in drivers around them place.
Are wanganui hoping to have a team this year? What drivers do they have eligible?

Last time I talked to someone ringing round the tracks bout teams racing no one racing outta huntly wants to teams race The aim of the Huntly club at this stage is to grow the Superstock class, sure the numbers are on the rise but that doesn't automatically mean a Waikato team will be fielded.

I no I was just replying with what I had been told not bagging the club or the supers there

I'm a Tigers supporter through-and-through, but have to respect the strength and talent the Palmerston-based teams bring every year. Would that happen if there wasn't a Mustangs team competing every year alongside the Panthers? At best, each team can bring six drivers to the event. Which means there are plenty of great peddlers left out every year. With the P having such a huge number of great drivers and cars contracted, it being a Palmerston 'home' event and the promoter being a real stalwart of the sport in the region, he's continuing to allow twice as many drivers from his track to be a part of this event.

Really 3 times as many Palmy drivers with the loaners to make up other teams, not sure that was what someone wanted with the remit preventing drivers driving for other tracks in teams

Must have been as Kevin Roberts is confirmed for the Glen eagles. Not sure where the remit came from but would have had to have been someone who was unhappy about gisborne winning the stockcar teams, pretty sure it was tied in with only 1 team per track which as we know would not apply to superstocks as they aren't an SNZ event
