Call me fussy if you like, but why must so many go off topic. One of the favoured off topic discussion's of late has been the Gisborne Giants Superstock team, so here is a thread just for them. Of course with a Giants thread now, I'm sure nobody will be interested any more :)so I will wait and see before saying any more about, what will be a very good team.

Not all these are the names we had when interviewing the Rees family on teams racing. Karl Ross has said he is taking the season off. As yet Joe Faram has not put hand up to teams race. I am under the impression that Chevron Taniwha is committed to Palmerston North. Asher, Ethan and Peter Rees are all very keen, Gavin Taniwha, Brad Ridland, Lance Aldridge, Darren Short and Stan Charman all in Nissan powered Rees tanks are meant to have indicated they availably. The final line-up is yet to be decided, but that is true for most teams at this stage of the season. Asher is the only one not in a Rees Tank, with his car being an A.R. racing space frame. There is good quality sponsors on board and a committed group of drivers with excellent cars and spares, everything a team needs to help the promotion put on the best show possible.

As this is an invitational event, at the discretion of the Palmy promoter, I am hoping they get an invite.
The Rees leaving Palmy last year may not have been found flavour with the promoter.
I hope they do, and the drivers touted would make an awesome team.
Gizzy may hold both teams titles for the month of Feb. Woo hoo.
Gizzy - Baypark final. You heard it here first.

Well I can’t think of better promotional matchups than having the Giants at the Palmy Teams! Just imagine this possible mouth-watering matchup - "Night one Gisborne Giants vs Palmy Panthers" Whoaaaaaaaaaaa! Get the draw out nice and early, print the posters, distribute the posters out to the clubs across the country, hype the meeting up, build the intensity, get the radio interviews going and fill the Arena out! (Oh can you get another commentator please?)

It would have to be the biggest load of round things to not have this team there.
And not just another team either, a strong and competitive side. This team will get a few extra through the gate but I think online streaming will go through the roof. If all goes well I'm sure the draw will be hot topic more than the last few seasons (back when baypark started up again)

Would be awesome to see them there, what an attraction, especially if Panthers and Giants drawn together. Couldn't ask for a more marketable match up.

Yeah Chev 74p runs the track car, so wouldn't think Bruce and Puk would be to keen to see a G on the side of it. As for me, I'm keen as to teams race. My car was built for the sole purpose of Palmy Teams and the Teams nationals in mine (A few more hp this year). Gisborne does have a squad of drivers to pick from (hopefully i make it) and if you want the Giants at these events then this forum is the perfect place to let the promotion know. So start hitting them keyboards and spread the word people........ Cheers Gavin Taniwha 75g

It will be twice as good if the Giants turn up with a great team. Easy pickings for finals

I say this with the greatest of respect Gavin but I hope you don't make the Giants squad so you can then come back and race for the Allstars!! You will be sadly missed by the Allstars this season but honestly the Giants would be crazy to leave you out....good luck.

There is noway Gavin will be left out of the Giants. In my opinion Gavin was the best blocker in the Country last year and in a Stockcar i might add. He proved a very difficult man to get around and really helped the All Stars to not be underestimated. I cant think of any reason why the Giants would not be allowed to race in Palmy its a win win for all except their opposition.

a few reasons why bruce makes the rules. there is bad blood between him and pete. and the team champs will sell out with or without them being there. and there is already enough teams. but i think they will be there can't see bruce saying no. he has a repuation to up hold.
