From the Miers racing Facebook page
Prior to the 2016 Panthers Team being named I would like to personally announce that I have made the decision to retire from Teams Racing. I debuted for the Panthers back in 1989 and in 1992 put my first title win under my belt, another 9 followed over 24 years.
My win in 2015 will be by far the most special to me, winning alongside my best mate and son Jack but the time has come to step aside and make way for young blood coming through who have well and truly earned the right to be in the team. I would like to take this opportunity to thank my supporters and everyone else who has made my teams racing career possible and so successful, as well as friends I have raced with and against. Special mention must go to an extremely good friend of mine Peter Bengston (Beesting). Him and I started teams racing together back in 05/06 until present and it was both an honour and a privilege to line up alongside someone I hold in such high regard.
I am excited to support the 2016 Panthers team, whoever that may be and do whatever I can to help them retain the trophy. Although it will be a change sitting on the other side of the fence when the flag drops it is something I am looking forward to.
Cheers, Scotty

It deserves it's own thread I agree wholeheartedly. Scott Miers has been the Panthers' rock for more seasons now than most of us have had hot dinners. It's a real changing of the guard with the departure of Peter Rees, the retirement of Shane Penn and now Scott exiting teams racing. Bear in mind of course that the Panthers still won last year, even without Rees and Penn, such are the resources available to them. But off the track Scott is a champion bloke as well. I took my English mate and his dad to Scott's place on the morning of Teams Champs last year, and although the place was a hive of activity with both the Panthers and the Lions getting ready for scrutineering we were made welcome. All the best for life after Teams Champs Scott. I suspect you won't find watching easy this year, but you've got out as a champion on and off the track.

Farewell to another teams racing legend though great to see there will still be laps in the individual racing in the future.
Always an entertainer always remember that race against Auckland and that massive hit on frank Irvine.
And of course the massive hit on Paul demanser when he drove out in front of Scottie on the last lap.
In fact the craziest memory was a race the panthers won, and Scottie stood on the top of pete Rees roof and waved the flag the whole lap without holding onto anything. Madness
Did anyone get any footage of that? Was madness, and I was sure he was going to fall off. Or an example of the amazing trust between us anther drivers
