It's a one in a million chance I guess, but if you don't ask you don't know.
If any of you macgorian's either hear about, happen to site, come across, or are offered, any of the following items, please get in touch with either myself or your nearest police station.
Stolen from the Mount Wellington area today;
1 x Toshiba laptop, several years old, with power chord. 1 x HP laptop, new, without power chord. 1 x iPad, also without power chord (nice of the perps to leave them behind). 1 x Nikon D3000 camera with 2-day-old Nikon 70-300mm zoom lens attached. 1 x large black & yellow Flamecrusher bag (this could be noticeable). 1 x bright orange LoPro camera bag/pack pack, never been used. 4 x ladies rings valued at thousands, but irreplaceable as handed down from generation to generation.
Years and years worth of speedway stories, progamme write ups, history, stats, photographs (both speedway and travel) etc etc, gone-burger. Were they all backed up? They had been, until the external hard drive itself failed over Xmas. A new one had been purchased but everything had not yet been backed up a second time.
Of all the items on the list, the family heirloom rings and the very old Toshiba laptop are what we would like returned the most.

I have also shared this on FB Barry, and will also add it to the Wanganui Warriors FB page - social media is great for reaching a large number of people in a short space of time, so here's hoping against hope you get your gear back.

That's devastating Barry, the lowlife 'effin scumbags. All that speedway history too. Will share to my page this evening when I'm home. When we last got robbed the Police said let your local secondhand dealers, cash converters etc know as quite often that's where the goods will end up.

Thanks for all of the support guys, and all of the tips are good too. Have typed up a list and will be forwarding it to the likes of the local Cash Converters etc.

No fingerprints, no real surprises there. Hopefully I can find all of the serial numbers to log with both Police and the likes of Cash Converters national data base. Watching Trade Me as well. As much chance of finding anything as winning lotto though I suspect......

If enough people pass the word Barry hopefully something crops up to catch them but more importantly get your stuff back or as much of it as possible. Feeling sad for you and the family.

sorry to hear about that Barry ,The biggest problem we found after we were robbed was 3 months later you go to get something and it is not there .Unfortunately from experience my advise is to if you can is try and think of every thing you had ,.Post our last home invasion we have listed every possible thing and given it to our lawyer as a back up ,I mean everything /
They did catch our mungrells on d n a evidence if it is any consolation ,Every dog has their day remember that ./

Just in case somebody, anybody, does happen to read this that by some slim chance might know something about the missing gear; there will be a generous reward on the old Toshiba laptop so long as it is returned intact (no questions asked). The laptop is old and not really worth much at all, so the reward will be worth much more to you than you'll ever get for the machine itself. Amongst other stuff, I have lost the final photos taken both with, and of, my brother before he died last year, and pics of me and an old school mate I hadn't seen in over 40 years who is now back overseas. As jimmyj said, you keep going to look for something, grab something, do something, and you can't because it's not there.
There will also be a reward on the rings. I'd love it all back, but they are the items most important to us. Irreplaceable.
A huge thanks too, to all of the people that are doing some amazing things behind the scenes in a bid to locate my stuff. I cannot thank you enough.

We feel for your Barry,when we moved to Australia.we decided to pack all the tools and our own gear into our own boxes so no one would see the amount of good gear/tools we had.Little did we know Transworld employee/s would repack the gear once at the depot for secure storage and just take what they wanted so we didn't find anything was missing until two years later.it's the last time we ever move stuff with no insurance.$23000 worth including all my speedway gear.The icing on the cake was when we could not report it stolen while we are still in Australia and was told to contact our insurance which we did not have.
