I'll second that. They looked the goods before the meeting even started and worked as a team all weekend. A thoroughly well deserved and earned win.

Awesome effort to all involved..its been along time coming. To do it with only 4 cars all weekend & 3 drivers in the team were racing their first teams champs.

Hawkes Bay looked the goods all weekend. They clearly had a race plan, and stuck to it, and looked to be the most cohesive team out there. I was delighted to see Mike Mac win the Spike Richardson Trophy; his blocking over the weekend was outstanding.
The Hawkeyes have built towards this over a long period of time, and if they can keep this team together, we could be in for another period of dominance.
Huge kudos to the GB Lions as well, given the obstacles they have to overcome. They are already part of Teams Champs folklore, and the win over the Giants last night showed just how tough they are. Long may they continue to come over here and entertain us.

Turning into a pretty good season for Hawkes Bay, and with one more NZ title to run at their home track they could end with the team's title + a podium finisher in all 4 contact classes. WELL DONE HAWKES BAY! P.S I didn't wanna look like a know all before the event but I always thought they would win it this year

Awesome effort to all involved..its been along time coming. To do it with only 4 cars all weekend & 3 drivers in the team were racing their first teams champs. The rookies getting the win in first year at the event. I was reminded too about Murray Long who tried for all those years and never got the win. Im pretty sure he's still smiling though (Hawkeyes winning and being inducted into hall of fame for teams)

Anyone know if there was a reason to stay with the same 4 cars? Personal I thought 46b Quin Ryan would have done a great job also. I'm sure he would have loved to contribute

I would say that they had formed their combinations in build up teams races and did not want to break that winning combination. Harsh may that be, but over the last few years HB appear to have lifted their profile and were there to win
